<br />MINUTES <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />CITY OF PARIS BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT <br />CITY OF PARIS - CITY HALL <br />COUNCIL CHAMBERS <br />107 E. KAUFMAN STREET <br />PARIS. TEXAS <br />THURSDAY. AUGUST 23. 2007 <br />12:00 O'CLOCK P.M. <br /> <br />1. The Board of Adjustment meeting was called to order by Chairman Terry <br />Christian at 12:00 p.m. <br /> <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Terry Christian <br />Kyle McCarley <br />Rodney Bass <br />Chester Martindale <br />Howard Corriston <br />Louis Yates <br /> <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Alternates: David Glass <br /> <br />C. Also present was Lisa A. Wright, Community Development Director. <br /> <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. Motion to approve the minutes <br />ofthe July 16, 2007, meeting was made by Rodney Bass, seconded by Chester <br />Martindale. Motion carried 6-0. <br /> <br />3. Public hearing to consider the petition of Thou Chan to grant a variance of <br />Zoning Ordinance No. 1710, as follows: (1) Section 10-102(1), reducing the <br />required number of off-street parking spaces and (3) on-street parking <br />spaces; and (2) Section 10-104(a), removing the requirementfor loading zone, <br />on Lot 4, Block 8, Springlake Addition, being number 230 N. Collegiate Drive. <br /> <br />Motion was made to recuse Louis Yates by Louis Yates, seconded by Kyle <br />McCarley. Motion carried 5-0. <br /> <br />Sybil Colson - 819 Lamar Avenue - Owns property at 28th Street and Price. <br />She objects to variance because there will be no parking on lot and will put <br />all traffic and parking on 28th street. Ms. Colson went on to state they are <br />putting to much on to little of a lot. Three off street parking spaces will tie up <br />street. <br /> <br />Edith Dunne - 257 28th Street N.E. - Ms. Dunne stated she was not aware that <br />28th street is commercial. She said there is one driveway for each lot out there <br />and when she has company they park on the street. Ms. Dunne further stated <br />she is against parking on the street for commercial use because there is not <br />enough room for people who live there. <br /> <br />- T <br />
