SECOND AMENDED CITY COUNCIL AGENDA <br />Notice is hereby given that the City Council of the City of Paris shall meet in regular session <br />at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, January 24, 2011. The meeting will be held at the City Council <br />Chamber, 107 E. Kaufman Street, in Paris, Texas. The matters to be discussed and acted <br />upon are as follows: <br />Opening Agenda <br />1. Call meeting to order. <br />2. Invocation. <br />3. Pledge of Allegiance. <br />4. Citizens' forum. <br />(Persons desiring to address the Council must limit their presentation to no more than two minutes. The <br />Texas Open Meetings Act prohibits the Council from responding to any comments other than to refer the <br />matter to a future agenda, to an existing policy, or to a staff person with specific factual information. <br />Claims against the City, Council Members, or employees, as well as individual personnel appeals are not <br />appropriate for citizens' forum.) <br />5. Public Announcements. <br />a. Proclamation declaring January as Crime Stoppers Month and 2011 as Lamar County <br />Crime Stoppers Silver Anniversary. <br />Consent Agenda <br />Items on the Consent Agenda are approved by a single action of the Council, with such approval applicable <br />to all items appearing on the Consent Agenda. A Council Member may request any item to be removed <br />from the Consent Agenda and considered as a separate item. <br />6. Deliberate and act on the approval of minutes from the meetings on December 20, 2010 <br />and January 10, 2011. <br />7. Receive and deliberate on reports and/or minutes from the following boards, <br />commissions, and committees: <br />a. Paris Economic Development Corporation (12-14-2010) <br />8. Deliberate on December monthly financial report. <br />9. Deliberate on drainage ditch maintenance report. <br />Regular Agenda <br />10. First reading, deliberate and possibly act on an Ordinance amending Section 26-1 <br />Composition of Department, of Chapter 26, Police, of the Paris Code of Ordinances by <br />revising Section 26-1 to authorize the staffing levels of the Police Department. <br />11. Deliberate and act on a Resolution ordering the regular municipal election for the City of <br />Paris, to be held on May 14, 2011, for the purpose of electing members of the Paris City <br />Council in Districts 4, 5, and 7. <br />12. Deliberate and act on a Resolution authorizing and approving the execution of a Contract <br />between the City of Paris and the Lamar County Elections Administrator to assist, <br />
