ORDINANCE NO. 2010 AN ORDINANCE CONTAINING A HEARING ON PROPERTIES LOCATED IN THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, BELONGING TO VARIOUS OWNERS, AND AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL FINDING THE MATERIALS REMAIN- ING IN THE PREMISES TO CONSTITUTE A NUISANCE AND TO BE A FIRE HAZARD TO LIFE AND PROPERTY AND A HI3ZARD TO THE LIFE AND WEL- FARE OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE AREA, AND ORDERING SAID RUBBISH, LUMBER AND REFUSE FROM THE HOUSES TO BE TORN DOWN AND REMOVED FROM THE PREMISES, IN ORDER TO ABATE SUCH NUISANCE. WHEREAS, a public hearing was, on the 8th day of March, 1971, called to order by the Mayor of the City of Paris, B. M. Felty, at 7:00 o'clock P. M., in the City Council Room, in the City of Paris, Texas; and, WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Building Hazard Inspection Committee fixed a date for hearing on the resolu- tion referred to the Committee by the City Council on December 14, 1970, and said Committee fixed said hearing at 9:00 o'clock A. M., on the 19th day of February, 1971, and the hearing was had thereon. That proper notice was given to the owner or owners of the structures located at the followin g addresses: 145 llth Street, N. E. 766 lst Street, N. E. 774 lst Street, N. E. 522 Garrett Street 1225 15th Street, N. W. 1495 7th Street, N. W. 926 8th Street, S. E. 1213 9th Street, N. E. 227 4th Street, S. E. 229 4th Street, S. E. 237 4th Street, S. E. 954 2nd Street, N. E. 913 West Sherman Street That at said hearing the Committee listed the structures in- volved and introduced pictures of the various portions of the structures and various portions of the premises involved. That the Committee found that each of the above structures were in such state of deterioration and dilapidation as to create a serious fire hazard to life and property and that each of said buildings was dilapidated and was dangerous to life and property and dangerous structures to life and property. That said build- ings are in such a state of dilapidation and decay that none of said structures are capable of repair. It is further found that the condition of the premises and structures involved were such that the Committee recommended to the City Council that they be declared a nuisance and that the owners thereof be oxdered by the City Council to tear down and remove the same from the lots involved. That said Committee filed a complete report of its hearing and its findings with the City Clerk of the City of Paris on the 25th day of February, 1971; and, WHEREAS, the City Council further finds that proper no- tice was given to the owner or owners of the structures here- inafter listed.
