ORDINANCE NO. 2010 <br />AN ORDINANCE CONTAINING A HEARING ON PROPERTIES LOCATED <br />IN THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, BELONGING TO VARIOUS OWNERS, AND <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL FINDING THE MATERIALS REMAIN- <br />ING IN THE PREMISES TO CONSTITUTE A NUISANCE AND TO BE A FIRE <br />HAZARD TO LIFE AND PROPERTY AND A HI3ZARD TO THE LIFE AND WEL- <br />FARE OF THE INHABITANTS OF THE AREA, AND ORDERING SAID RUBBISH, <br />LUMBER AND REFUSE FROM THE HOUSES TO BE TORN DOWN AND REMOVED <br />FROM THE PREMISES, IN ORDER TO ABATE SUCH NUISANCE. <br />WHEREAS, a public hearing was, on the 8th day of March, <br />1971, called to order by the Mayor of the City of Paris, B. M. <br />Felty, at 7:00 o'clock P. M., in the City Council Room, in the <br />City of Paris, Texas; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the Building Hazard <br />Inspection Committee fixed a date for hearing on the resolu- <br />tion referred to the Committee by the City Council on December <br />14, 1970, and said Committee fixed said hearing at 9:00 o'clock <br />A. M., on the 19th day of February, 1971, and the hearing was <br />had thereon. That proper notice was given to the owner or <br />owners of the structures located at the followin g addresses: <br />145 llth Street, N. E. <br />766 lst Street, N. E. <br />774 lst Street, N. E. <br />522 Garrett Street <br />1225 15th Street, N. W. <br />1495 7th Street, N. W. <br />926 8th Street, S. E. <br />1213 9th Street, N. E. <br />227 4th Street, S. E. <br />229 4th Street, S. E. <br />237 4th Street, S. E. <br />954 2nd Street, N. E. <br />913 West Sherman Street <br />That at said hearing the Committee listed the structures in- <br />volved and introduced pictures of the various portions of the <br />structures and various portions of the premises involved. That <br />the Committee found that each of the above structures were in <br />such state of deterioration and dilapidation as to create a <br />serious fire hazard to life and property and that each of said <br />buildings was dilapidated and was dangerous to life and property <br />and dangerous structures to life and property. That said build- <br />ings are in such a state of dilapidation and decay that none of <br />said structures are capable of repair. It is further found that <br />the condition of the premises and structures involved were such <br />that the Committee recommended to the City Council that they be <br />declared a nuisance and that the owners thereof be oxdered by <br />the City Council to tear down and remove the same from the lots <br />involved. That said Committee filed a complete report of its <br />hearing and its findings with the City Clerk of the City of <br />Paris on the 25th day of February, 1971; and, <br />WHEREAS, the City Council further finds that proper no- <br />tice was given to the owner or owners of the structures here- <br />inafter listed. That at sai d hearing on the 19th day of <br />February, 1971, the Committee listed the structures involved <br />
