Owner: Cecil E & Bettye J Stansell Jr., 370 CR 34721 Paris, TX 75460 <br />Robert Talley stated that the owners are deceased and that the will has not been <br />probated yet. Lisa Diggs is the occupant and Mr. Talley has spoken to her and <br />expected her to attend the meeting. The original request was going to be for 90 <br />days to repair but since the occupant did not show up Mr. Talley is going to ask <br />for 30 days to repair. <br />Mr. Talley showed pictures of there being holes in the roof that were covered by <br />blue tarps in places but that the tarps were even dilapidated, there was also a <br />section of the roof covered with old barn tin, as well as missing and dilapidated <br />wood around the roof. <br />Dale Maberry, Fire Marshal for the City of Paris stated that this house was <br />brought to his attention due to a house fire next door. An ember started a fire on <br />this property which the fire department extinguished. Mr. Maberry removed the <br />electrical service because he deemed it unsafe on the inside and the outside. <br />Mr. Wilson expressed concern in regards to the fact that the house was occupied. <br />Mr. Talley stated that the city was working on this issue and hoped to have <br />procedures in place to handle occupied structures that were deemed unsafe. <br />Mr. Talley has spoken to the Stansell's daughter and there is some confusion as to <br />whether Ms. Diggs has finished paying for the house or not. <br />Robert Talley's recommendation: 30 days to repair if not the property would <br />be brought back to the commission for the order to demolish. <br />Motion was made by Wendell Moore, seconded by Sally McEwin to accept <br />Robert Talley's recommendation. Motion carried unanimously. 5 -0 <br />D. 1121 NE 16th, Harlan Heights, Block 2, Lot 10 <br />Owner: Michael Alexander, 226 NW 6tl' Paris, TX 75460 <br />$5834.90 in back taxes owed <br />Robert Talley has had no contact with the owner in regards to this property. Mr. <br />Talley showed picture of an unsecure front door and broken windows. There is <br />missing and deteriorated wood along the foundation and a hole in the roof. <br />There is also a hole inside in the floor where it looks as if people where trying to <br />scrap copper and wires. <br />Robert Talley's recommendation: Robert Talley's recommendation: 30 days <br />to demolish if not the City has the right to demolish and apply a $1000 per <br />day civil penalty. <br />Motion was made by Sally McEwin, seconded by Zac Saffle to accept Robert <br />Talley's recommendation.
