Darnell Sr., 355 SW 13th, Paris, TX 75460 <br />Present: Mr. Ed Darnell and Gary Waite (attorney) <br />$1163.91 in back taxes owed <br />Robert Talley showed pictures of junk and rubbish on the front porch, missing <br />and deteriorated boards on the side of the house at the foundation, there are <br />broken and unsecure windows. The roof is starting to sway and the windows are <br />crooked from where the foundation is sinking into the ground. He also showed <br />pictures of a shed in the back that is leaning and has a tree growing into it and <br />another out building that the roof is collapsing and tree limbs have fallen on it. <br />Mr. Darnell no longer lives in the house. <br />Robert Talley's recommendation: 30 days to demolish if not the City has the <br />right to demolish and apply a $1000 per day civil penalty. <br />Mr. Darnell stated that one of the windows was ripped out by someone trying to <br />come into the house but that the house is secure. The boards are missing at the <br />foundation because he was going to level the house. He had the roof replaced in <br />2003 or 2004. He also stated that he has someone who is going to come out and <br />level the house and he is going to put metal siding on and replace the windows. <br />Mr. Darnell stated that if he didn't have the structure repaired in 60 days he would <br />tear it down. <br />Motion was made by Johnny Norris, seconded by Zac Saffle to give Mr. <br />Darnell 30 days to demolish out buildings and 90 days to repair structure. <br />Motion carried unanimously. 4 -0 <br />Motion was amended by Johnny Norris, seconded by Zac Saffle to give Mr. <br />Darnell 60 days to demolish out buildings and 90 days to repair main <br />structure. The house is unsecure, there is a <br />couch and carpet in the front yard. All the wire has been pulled out of the house <br />and there is extensive damage to the interior of the house. <br />Robert Talley's recommendation: 30 days to demolish if not the City has the <br />
