months ago and a 30 day demolish order was put on the property. After the <br />meeting the property owner contacted him and asked to be given an opportunity <br />to talk to the commission. That's why it's on the agenda. After much discussion <br />between the commission and the Assistant City Attorney, Stephanie Harris, no <br />action is needed and the original order stands. <br />G. 327 SW 7th, City of Paris, Block 119 -B, Lot 4 <br />Owner: HR Smith 235 SW 46th Paris, TX 75460 <br />Robert Talley has had no contact with the property owner. <br />Mr. Talley stated that this properties porch is broken, the house is sinking, there <br />are holes in the roof, the house is falling off the blocks, and the underpinning is <br />folding under making the house lean. <br />Robert Talley's recommendation: 30 days to demolish if not the City has the <br />right to demolish and apply a $1000 per day civil penalty. <br />Motion was made by Johnny Norris, seconded by Vicky Ballard to follow <br />Robert Talley's recommendation for the property owner to demolish the <br />property in 30 days, if not the City has the right to demolish and apply a <br />$1000 per day civil penalty to the property. Motion carried unanimously. 4 -0 <br />H. 319 SW 7th, City of Paris Block 119 -B, Lot 3 <br />Owner: Shawn Simon — Mr. Simon is in the penitentiary. <br />No back taxes owed. <br />The only contact Robert Talley's had with anyone is a lady saw the red tag on the <br />house and called to ask if she can get some of her stuff out of the house. <br />Mr. Talley showed pictures of the property where it is missing the siding, the roof <br />leaks, roof deterioration, it's unsecure with broken windows, and the shed in the <br />back of the property is falling in. <br />Robert Talley's recommendation: 30 days to demolish if not the City has the <br />right to demolish and apply a $1000 per day civil penalty. <br />Dale Mayberry, City of Paris Fire Marshall, stated that the house has no <br />value and it's unsafe. <br />Motion was made by Johnny Norris, seconded by Vicky Ballard to follow <br />Robert Talley's recommendation for the property owner to demolish the <br />property in 30 days, if not the City has the right to demolish and apply a <br />$1000 per day civil penalty to the property. Motion carried unanimously. 4 -0 <br />I. 550 SW 3rd, City of Paris Block 136, Lot 8 <br />Owner: James Lee & Kathy A Ausmus, 719 3`d St. SW Apt. A Paris, TX 75460 <br />$11,013.72 back taxes owed. <br />Mr. Talley said the owner Kathy Ausmus hasn't lived in the house in 19 years. <br />She abandoned it and doesn't want anything to do with it. <br />Mr. Talley showed pictures of the structure being unsecure, deconstructed floor, <br />siding missing and junk and rubbish everywhere.
