put up a fence in the back yard and had covered the holes in the roof with tarps. <br />These measures were taken as a temporary fix until such time that Mr. Larkin <br />could return to Paris and begin making improvements himself. He did agree that <br />the back porch does need to be removed. <br />Randy Roam of 1734 Margaret Paris, TX spoke as to the condition of the house. <br />He owns two other properties on Margaret. He believes that the original house <br />is structurally sound but portions that have been added on are deteriorated. Mr. <br />Roam expressed concern in regards to the amount of money it is going to take <br />repair this property. <br />Mr. Larkin would like the opportunity to repair the rear structure and if he deems <br />it un- repairable then to use what is salvageable to use on the front structure. <br />Robert Talley's recommendation: 90 days to repair roof on both structures, <br />remove back porch and secure all windows and doors <br />Motion was made by Wendell Moore, seconded by Ryan Lassiter to follow <br />Robert Talley's recommendation for the property owner to repair roof on <br />both structures, remove back porch and secure all windows and doors. <br />Motion carried unanimously. 7 -0 <br />A. 134 SW 1st; Lot 4, City Block 5 <br />Owner: Truby Family Revocable Trust 7500 SW 63`d Ave, South Miami, FL <br />33143 -4657 <br />Robert Talley stated that he has spoken and exchanged emails with the property <br />owner. Renter was to come and talk to Mr. Talley and never did. Owner has <br />stated that he will be coming to Paris this summer but have not heard from him as <br />to when. <br />Don Wilson asked John Lestock if the city ordinance did not allow the city to <br />repair the structure and place a lien on the property. Mr. Lestock stated that he <br />does not recall the city ever repairing property. Mr. Zack Saffle stated that the <br />violation letter says the Commission can order the property owner to repair but <br />that the city only can vacate, secure, remove or demolish the structure. Mr. <br />Wilson asked Mr. Talley to look into the wording of the ordinance and possibly <br />changing the wording of the violation letter <br />Robert Talley's recommendation: since this property has appeared before the <br />Commission previously and the owner still has not made the necessary repairs to <br />begin assessing a civil penalty of $10.00 per day starting immediately. <br />Motion was made by Johnny Norris, seconded by Zack Saffle to follow <br />Robert Talley's recommendation to assess a civil penalty of $10.00 effective <br />immediately. Motion carried unanimously. 7 -0 <br />B. 323 & 329 NE 1st; Lot 3, City Block B <br />Owner: Geraldine Fuller, 1400 W Washington Apt 1103 Paris, TX 75460 <br />Robert Talley stated that Mrs. Fuller came to his office and stated that she has <br />everything she wants out of the house and is afraid to go anywhere near the <br />property. <br />Robert Talley's recommendation: 30 days to demolish if not the City has the right <br />to demolish and apply a $1000 per day civil penalty. <br />Motion was made by Ryan Lassiter, seconded by Wendell Moore to follow <br />Robert Talley's recommendation for the property owner to demolish the <br />property in 30 days, if not the City has the right to demolish and apply a <br />
