Mr. King feels this will prevent degrading of properties. <br />He plans to live there himself. <br />Mr. Robert White, 705 NW 27`'', opposed the petition, he presented a petition with several <br />signatures of neighbors in opposition. He feels it will degrade property values. <br />Mr. Gary Lay, 605 NW 27th, agrees with Mr. White that properties will degrade. <br />Mr. John Paul Brown, 725 NW 27th, also opposed and agreed with the others that properties <br />would degrade. <br />Ms. Ellen Grayson, 635 NW 27', agrees with the others. <br />Ms. Shanna Garrison is fearful that the change would lower property values. <br />Mr. Clyde Coleman, is opposed to the zoning change stating that he currently owns a <br />mobile home there but plans to build a house. <br />There was no further opposition, the public hearing was declared closed. <br />5. Consideration of and action on the petition of Carmon King for a change in zoning <br />from a One - Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2) to a One - Family Dwelling District <br />No. 3 (SF -3) With Specific Use Permit (39) Mobile Homes, Pt. of Lot 1, City Block 301, <br />being the 600 Block of NW 27`h Street. <br />Motion made to deny the petition by Curtis Fendley and seconded by Michael Dangerfield. <br />Motion carried by a vote of 6 ayes and 0 nays. <br />6. Public Hearing to consider the petition of Doris Thorsen for a change in zoning froma <br />One - Family Dwelling District No. 2 (SF -2) to a One - Family Dwelling District No. 3 (SF- <br />3) With Specific Use Permit (39) Mobile Homes, Lot 11, City Block 241, being number <br />545 NW 14`h Street. <br />The public hearing was declared open. <br />Ms. Doris Thorsen, 123 E. Price, representing her son who owns the property, spoke in favor <br />of the petition. Her son is young and not well established yet but in the long term plans to <br />build a home. The lot is presently vacant. <br />Mr. Tom Adams, Jr., Rt. 2, Box 20A, Sumner, who owns adjoining property is opposed to <br />the petition. He feels the neighborhood is improving and he plans to tear down his old <br />houses and maybe build duplexes in the future. He fears this zoning would degrade <br />properties. <br />There was no fiu-ther opposition, the public hearing was declared closed. <br />
