Ms. Carolyn Clear, 2640 Pine Bluff, whose father is pastor at the church, knows about the <br />need for this type of home that will provide education for the women enabling them to get <br />off welfare. <br />Ms. Michelle Berryhill stated that everyone who lives on Pine Bluff must back into the street. <br />Jerry Haning,1213 Pine Bluff, opposed the petition with concerns about parking. He stated <br />that it is very dangerous to back out of driveway. He knew of occasion this week that cars <br />were parked on Pine Bluff. He expressed concern for the safety of 12 to 14 school children <br />that wait for the school bus at the corner of Pine Bluff and 12`x' NE and also, the safety of the <br />15 residents in one home, i.e. fire, etc.; the house is old. <br />Rev. Lorenzo Johns spoke in favor of the petition stating that it has been well received and <br />all the churches support this need. <br />Ms. Bowlin was asked ifthere are counselors and if there are other services that the residents <br />will be taken to. She stated that 1 person will come in 3 times a week for 1 hour to minister <br />to the residents. The house has 7 bedrooms. <br />There was no fiirther opposition, the public hearing was declared closed. <br />4. Consideration of and action on the petition of Cindy G. Bowlin for a change in zoning <br />from a Two - Family Dwelling District (217) to a Two - Family Dwelling District (2F) With <br />Specific Use Permit (24) Institutions of Religious Nature, Lot 1, City Block 32, being <br />number 1202 Pine Bluff. <br />Motion was made to approve by Louis Yates and seconded by Michael Dangerfield. Motion <br />carried by a vote of 7 ayes and 1 nay. <br />5. Public Hearing to consider the petition of Sandra Ferguson for a change in zoning from <br />a One - Family Dwelling District (SF -2) to a Neighborhood Service District (NS), Lot <br />1, Block A, Fry Addition, being number 2010 E. Cherry. <br />The public hearing was declared open. <br />Ms. Sandra Ferguson, 2010 E. Cherry, spoke in favor of the petition stating that she would <br />like to open in October, 2000. There is plenty ofparking and customers will usually be there <br />only about 5 minutes. Sand's Boutique will sell cosmetics and hair products. She owns the <br />property. <br />There was no opposition, the public hearing was declared closed. <br />6. Consideration of and action on the petition of Sandra Ferguson for a change in zoning <br />from a One - Family Dwelling District (SF -2) to a Neighborhood Service District (NS), <br />Lot 1, Block A, Fry Addition, being number 2010 E. Cherry. <br />Motion was made to approve, specific to Ms. Ferguson, by Louis Yates and seconded by Joe <br />McCarthy. Motion carried by a vote of 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />
