The public hearing was declared open. Gary Nash spoke in favor of the petition stating that he wants to erect a billboard on the lot. Due to heavy traffic on highway, this is a good location for billboard advertising. There was no opposition, the public hearing was declared closed. Bobby Myers was excused from the meeting. Motion made by Curtis Fendley and seconded by Marshall Kent. Motion carried by a vote of 6 ayes and 0 nays. 10. Consideration of and action on the petition of Gary Nash for a change in zoning from a Commercial District (C) to a Commercial District (C) With Specific Use Permit (52) Signs and Billboards, Lot 11 -A, City Block 321, being number 1805 FM 195. Motion was made to approve by Eddie Vincent and seconded by Curtis Fendley. Motion carried by a vote of 5 ayes and 1 nay. There was no one present to speak in favor of the petition. Ms. Sarah Lee, 1848 Maple, opposed the petition stating that the property already has a house on it that's being used for storage. She thinks that there is no room for the placement of a mobile home. There is a mobile home park across 19`h NW. A petition was presented also.
