Planning and Zoning Meeting <br />August 3, 2004 <br />Page 16 <br />Arvin Starrett spoke in favor of the petition stating that the Early Home <br />is a very important pre -fire structure for the City of Paris. The owner, <br />Linda, petitioned the commission at their hearing for this designation. <br />Jim Wright, 805 20t" SE, spoke in favor of the petition stating that this <br />house is really important to his neighborhood, it is good for the rats, the <br />squirrels, the birds, the cats, the cats live off the rats —he would like to <br />see it preserved for that reason. It is unoccupied 90% of the time. <br />Arvin Starrett stated that this structure has been submitted to the Texas <br />Historical Commission as one of the 13 most endangered properties in <br />the City of Paris which would enable property owners financial <br />assistance. <br />There was no opposition, the public hearing was declared closed. <br />14. Consideration of and action on the petition of the Historic Preservation <br />Commission for a change in zoning to include a Historic Overlay <br />District No. 6 (HD) on Lot 3, City Block 248 -B, being located at 1970 <br />Clarksville Street. <br />Motion was made to approve as Historic Overlay District No. 6 (HD) by <br />Bobby Myers, seconded by Benny Plata. Motion carried by a vote of 8 <br />ayes and 0 nays. <br />15. Public Hearing to consider the petition of the Historic Preservation <br />Commission for a change in zoning to include a Historic Overlay <br />District No. 7 (HD) on Lot 11, City Block 124, being located at 429 <br />Grand Avenue; Lots 13,14, and 15, City Block 124, being located at 410 <br />and 428 W. Kaufman; Lot 16, City Block 124, being located at 440 W. <br />Kaufman Street. <br />The public hearing was declared open. <br />
