The tank is to be located off the north edge of the concrete ramp, east
of the firehouse hangar, between the firetruck hangar and the old Wrenn
hangars, so that all three proposed tanks will be together.
The following advantages were discussed as the basis for this recommendation:
(1) Funds would not be wasted ($3- 4,000) on a temporary action needing
another remedy in a year.
(2) A savings of 10 -15% based on the inflation factor would be re-
lized by permanent remedy now instead of a year from now.
(3) A mobile truck would improve the safety at Cox Feild by provid-
ing mobile helicopter and jet fuel service.
(4) This would allow for fueling of helicopters in compliance with
current city ordinances.
(5) It would increase jet fuel sales potential, which already grosses
an estimate 9,200 per year.
(6) The placement of the underground tank in the suggested location
along with the purchase of a fuel truck would eliminate the need
to spend money for any underground lines.
(7) Fuel transports and trucks would have easy access to the storage
tank in proposed location.
New Business:
1. Final inspection by the FAA inspector, and Mr. Collier, Airport Manager,
and the contractor, Mr. Buster was done on 8/18/80. Core samples were
taken at that time. The hangar has now been completed and accepted.
