MINUTES <br />AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD WORKSHOP <br />WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 29, 1984 <br />5:15 O'CLOCK P.M. <br />CHAMBER OF COMMERCE OFFICE <br />PARIS, TEXAS <br />The Airport Advisory Board of the City of Paris met for a workshop meeting <br />Wednesday, February 29, 1984 at 5:15 P.M. at the Chamber of Commerce Office <br />Building, Paris, Texas with the following members present: <br />1. Richard Rex - Chairman <br />2. Dr. Edward Keller <br />3. Bill Boothe <br />4. Kristina Campbell - Secretary <br />Also present were Jim Collier, Airport Manager, Bruce Conklin, Pat Ryan <br />of the Chamber of Commerce.and Joe Graham, Mayor. <br />Richard Rex called the workshop meeting to order and introduced Mayor Joe <br />Graham. <br />Mayor Graham asked to speak first about item three on the workshop agenda: <br />LIABILITY INSURANCE FOR COX FIELD - Mayor Graham reported that the liability <br />insurance at Cox Field has been increased from $300,000 to $1,000,000 per <br />incident. The City has hired the Wyatt Risk Management Group to conduct a <br />study of the City's complete insurance package and will then report to City <br />Council. <br />Mr. Rex stated that the Advisory Board had no need to study the liability <br />insurance at Cox Field at this time. <br />1. DISCUSS METHODS TO BE USED IN STUDY OF "EFFECTS OF DISCONTINUING <br />AGRICULTURAL OPERATIONS ON COX FIELD." <br />Mr. Rex asked Mayor Graham to clarify what the Council wants the Advisory <br />Board to do. <br />Mayor Graham stated the Council during the hearing over Mr. Wrenn's permit <br />became concerned and confused over the rules covering agricultural aircraft <br />operations. The Council did not understand how agricultural aircraft were <br />required to act in the traffic pattern. <br />The Council wishes the board to express their opinion on: <br />1) Whether agricultural operations be based at Cox Field - (meaning: <br />hangaring, chemical-storage and filling of tanks and not ag. aircraft <br />who are only refueling.) <br />2) If agricultural operations detrimental to the public good; and <br />3) If its advantageous to the Airport to have agricultural operations <br />based at the Airport. <br />During a discussion about Airport operations Mr. Collier reported that the <br />Ag pilots not permanently based at the Airport are located on the east side <br />of the field and are using the two shorter runways. The men permanently based <br />at the Airport are using RWY 17 -35, because their water and chemicals are <br />
