Airport Advisory Board Meeting Minutes <br />January 25, 1983 <br />Page 2 <br />Mr. Sudduth asked if the FCC will complain about Cox Field using two <br />frequencies. Mr. Collier said he did not know, but he would "take the heat ". <br />Mr. Sudduth asked that signs be placed at the end of each runway with the <br />UNICOM frequency 123.0 given. <br />Mr. Herbert Campbell asked if the VASI will be changed to 123.0. Mr. Collier <br />said it was up to the FAA to change the radio crystal which operates the VASI. <br />Mr. Collier said he did not know when the FAA will change their crystal. <br />2. Review of permits: Mr. Collier stated Mr. James Howell's application for an <br />agricultural spray permit renewal was in order and recommended it be accepted. <br />Mr. Boothe <br />MOVED it be accepted. Mr. Sudduth seconded the motion <br />ul, NIM1 <br />Mr. Collier presented the application for a new permit by Bruce W. Sessions, <br />Route 6, Cherry Road, Clarksville, Texas. Mr. Sessions' application was for an <br />agricultural spray permit. Mr. Collier stated the application was complete. <br />Dr. Keller asked if it was known what chemicals are used by the spray pilots <br />and how the chemicals are stored, also if any were a fire hazard. A discussion on <br />the matter revealed the EPA delegates to the State of Texas Department of <br />Agriculture the authority to control and inspect the ag spraying business. <br />It was found Mr. Sessions' application did not include a letter stating how he <br />will deal with his waste materials. It was <br />MOVED by Mr. Boothe and seconded by Dr. Keller that Mr. Sessions' application be <br />accepted if he signs a statement about his chemical waste disposal. <br />MOTION CARRIED 5 -0 <br />Mr. Collier stated Metro Airlines' application for renewal of their permit <br />was complete. <br />It was <br />MOVED by Mr. Sudduth and seconded by Dr. Keller that the application for renewal <br />be approved. <br />MOTION CARRIED 5 -0 <br />Mr. Collier stated Mr. Jimmy Wren's application for permit renewal was in <br />order. Mr. Wren was applying for an Airframe Maintenance, Power Plant Maintenance, <br />Pilot Training and Agricultural Spray Pilot permit. <br />Mrs. Campbell <br />MOVED that Mr. Wren's permit be denied. Dr. Keller seconded the motion. Dr. Keller <br />stated Mr. Wren was under an FAA investigation for unsafe flying. The complaint <br />was filed by Mr. Larry Thomas, husband of a student of Bill Boothe's flying school. <br />
