MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />BUILDING AND STANDARDS COMMISSION <br />Monday, December 19, 2005 <br />4:00 P.M. <br />1. Chad Brown called the Building and Standards Commission Meeting to order at 4:10 <br />P.M. <br />Roll was called. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Pike Burkhart, Alternate Chris Brown, Alternate <br />Chad Brown Stephen Brown, Alternate <br />Harrell Tippitt Mary Crumpler <br />B. The following members were absent: <br />Brad Archer Ryan Lassiter <br />Zach Saffle, Alternate Greg Wilson <br />Lucius Joe, Jr. <br />2. Approval of Minutes of previous meeting: <br />A motion was made by Stephen Brown to approve the meeting minutes, and Pike <br />Burkhart seconded the motion. The motion carried unanimously. <br />3. Public hearing to consider the presentations by City of Paris Code Inspectors and <br />owner(s) and /or lien holder(s) of the below properties who have been given notice of a <br />violation of Article III of Chapter 7 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Paris, <br />Paris, Texas, entitled A Substandard and Dangerous Buildings and Structures: <br />A. 1030 Park Street, Lots 7, 8, and 9, Block 5, Smith's 1st Addition <br />Motion was made by Mary Crumpler, seconded by Harrell Tippitt for the property <br />to be demolished within 30 days with a $1,000 per day civil penalty and if the <br />property is not demolished within the 30 day time period, the City will demolish. <br />Motion carried unanimously. <br />B. 1025 Park Street, Part of Lot 11 and Lot 12, Block 9, Smith's 1st Addition <br />The door to the structure is open, there are broken windows, interior is not in good <br />condition, and the roof is deteriorating. Motion was made by Pike Burkhart, <br />seconded by Mary Crumpler for the property to be demolished within 30 days with <br />a $1,000 per day civil penalty and if the property is not demolished within the 30 day <br />time period, the City will demolish. Motion carried unanimously. <br />
