Public hearing declared open. <br />No one spoke in favor nor against. <br />Public hearing was declared closed. <br />Commissioner Hundley asked Godwin if parking is going to be a problem. Godwin advised <br />that would be addressed with the site plan. <br />Motion was made by Sims Norment, seconded by John Lee to approve the zoning change from <br />One -Family Dwelling District (SF -2) to a General Retail District (GR). Motion carried 7-0. <br />4. Public hearing to consider and take action regarding the petition of Sharon Houchins for <br />a change in zoning fi°om a Commercial District (C) to a Commercial District (C) with a <br />Specific Use Permit (SUP) for a Self -Service Storage Facility, in the City of Paris, Block <br />170-C, Lot 14-A, being located at 2455 S. Church Street. <br />Godwin states that Sharon Houchins is requesting a change in zoning from a Commercial <br />District to a Commercial District with a Special Use Permit (SUP) for Self -Service Storage. <br />Ms. Houchins currently operates a carwash on this 3.85 acre lot which she plans to close <br />and convert into a storage facility. She already has storage units on the back (east side) of <br />her property. Property to the east is zoned and used as residential. Other properties are <br />zoned Light Industrial and Commercial. The Future Land Use Plan calls for all of this area <br />to remain Commercial. Adding an SUP to an existing Commercial zoning should neither <br />increase nor decrease the intensity of use or traffic counts. Performance standards (light, <br />noise, dust, etc.) should not be an issue due to the distance to the nearest residential use. <br />City recommends approval of the zoning change from Commercial to Commercial with an <br />SUP. <br />Public hearing declared open. <br />Ramona Hill spoke on behalf of her mother, property owner at 4225 Old Clarksville Rd. She <br />asked if the applicant is wanting to build behind the property. Godwin advise the applicant is <br />wanting to convert existing carwash into a storage <br />
