MINUTES <br />MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD <br />Tuesda Jul Y 14 2 <br />4:30 PM <br />Present: Absent: <br />Glee Emmite, Chair Tyrone Hayden <br />Carolyn Patterson <br />William Walker <br />Kari Daniel <br />Emily Temple <br />Tanner Dobrovolsky <br />Becky Semple — Chamber representative <br />Paula Portugal, Council Liaison <br />Cheri Bedford, Main Street Manager <br />AGENDA <br />1. Glee Emmite called the meeting to order at 4:35 PM, July 14, 2020, in the City Council chambers. <br />2. Glee Emmite welcomed and introduced new members of the Main Street board followed by an introduction of <br />current board members. <br />3. Review and approve minutes — A motion to approve the June 2020 minutes was made by William Walker, <br />second by Kari Daniel, motion carried. <br />4. Board member project reports - <br />- William Walker shared information on Distrx.com, a free app that shows shopping, entertainment, <br />parking locations, local attractions, upcoming events and offers/promotions from local merchants. The app provides <br />national coverage for anyone wanting to view what Paris downtown has to offer. The distrx app supports historic <br />and art walking tours and other app -based "apptivities". Some special events may require a small fee. William will <br />provide additional information at a later date as he investigates the app. <br />• Kari Daniel is working with Cheri Bedford and Chris at the Toole Group on lighting around the plaza. <br />He recommended up lighting that can be used year-round. A white light system for each tree is estimated at $7,600. <br />Another option is a system that can change the lights' color through a phone app. This could be used for with <br />seasonal changes or special events. This system is estimated at $13,700. Other options such as sidewalk lights and <br />fountain lights will be investigated. <br />• Tanner Dobrovolsky has an interest in the flowers around the plaza and has been watering them during <br />the extreme heat to prevent scorching. <br />• Glee Emmite and Emily Temple have been working on updating the building inventory for a downtown <br />map and business brochure. Several buildings do not have the street number posted on the front. <br />5. Updates from Community Partners - <br />Becky Semple, Tourism Director from the Chamber of Commerce & VCC — The following items were <br />shared. • A red booth serving as a kiosk will soon be installed at the Eiffel Tower with Paris information. • Videos <br />will be added to the Chamber website to show why "Paris is always a great idea." • Virtual tours of Paris will be <br />developed. • Pump track is to be completed in 6-7 weeks. • Barber Hills Bike Trail ride is in September. • Tour de <br />Paris is scheduled for September but tentative at this time. <br />Glee Emmite shared the following info: HPC — Rigby's on the north side of plaza received a Certificate of <br />Appropriateness for the front of their new business. Priest Emporium was approved for a Certificate of <br />
