Motion carried, 6 ayes — 0 nays. <br />15. Discuss, conduct a public hearing and act on ORDINANCE NO. 2021-006: AN <br />ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, <br />AS HERETOFORE AMENDED, SO AS TO REZONE CITY OF PARIS BLOCK 170- <br />C, PT OF LOT 14, LOCATED IN THE 2500 BLOCK OF SOUTH CHURCH STREET, <br />FROM AN AGRICULTURAL DISTRICT (A) TO A COMMERCIAL DISTRICT (C); <br />DIRECTING A CHANGE ACCORDINGLY IN THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF <br />THE CITY; PROVIDING A REPEALER CLAUSE, A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, A <br />SAVING CLAUSE, A PENALTY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />Mr. Path explained that Hunter Jones was requesting a change in zoning from an <br />Agricultural District to a Commercial District. Mr. Path said the Agricultural zoning designation <br />for this property was a holding district and did need to change to a more functional zoning, and <br />that the future land use called for this lot to be zoned Commercial. He also said that the Planning <br />and Zoning Commission approved this zoning change, and staff recommended approval. <br />Mayor Clifford opened the public hearing and asked for anyone wishing to speak in <br />support or opposition to this item, to please come forward. With no one speaking, Mayor <br />Clifford closed the public hearing. <br />A Motion to approve this item was made by Council Member Savage and seconded by <br />Council Member Knox. Motion carried, 6 ayes — 0 nays. <br />16. Discuss, conduct a public hearing, and act on ORDINANCE NO. 2021-007: AN <br />ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, <br />AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 1710 OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, <br />AS HERETOFORE AMENDED, SO AS TO REZONE CITY OF PARIS BLOCK 188, <br />LOTS 6 AND 7, LOCATED AT 1415 S.E. 6TH STREET, FROM A LIGHT <br />INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT (LI) TO A TWO-FAMILY DWELLING DISTRICT (2F); <br />DIRECTING A CHANGE ACCORDINGLY IN THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF <br />THE CITY; PROVIDING A REPEALER CLAUSE, A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE, A <br />SAVINGS CLAUSE, A PENALTY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />Mr. Path explained that Russ Davis was requesting a change in zoning on behalf of Linda <br />and Johnny Miles, Sr., from a Light Industrial District to a Two -Family Dwelling District. Mr. <br />Path said there was mixed zoning in the area, that the Planning & Zoning Commission approved <br />this zoning change, and that staff recommended approval. <br />
