6. Presentation of FY20/21 airport budget.
Finance Director Gene Anderson presented the 2020-2021 budget and stated that next year's
budget will be different in order to show that airport operations are being removed from the
City's General Fund and placed in the new "Cox Field Airport Fund". There will be new revenue
and expenditure accounts reflecting that the City is now operating the airport. Mr. Hearne asked
about left over money that should roll over to which Mr. Anderson stated there was a $69,000
CARES Act Grant which they have submitted expenditures for, but have not yet been
reimbursed. Mr. Avery asked what the money was used for. Mr. Anderson stated it was an
unusual circumstance in which the City had to spend the money quickly, so what the State
allowed the City to do was to submit the normal operational -type expenses, so that when the City
is reimbursed the City can then choose how to spend the money with no Grant restrictions. Mr.
Anderson said that he would expect to get the reimbursement fairly soon, and it would then be
budgeted by City Council and put back into the airport.
7.
