Commissioner Long, motion carried. <br />Thomas Nguyen submitted a proposed design on the Lamar Avenue that included removing <br />the existing rotten wood, and putting a base behind the structure. Mr Nguyen will cover the <br />backing with hardy board and decorative wooden trim to create a design. He will finish it <br />with a stucco mixture. Chairman Dux clarified that there is no transom windows existing <br />behind the wood. Chairman Dux asked that the vertical boards would have a balance by <br />putting two 3 ft. sections on either side of the cover. Commissioner Long made the motion to <br />approve the Certificate of Appropriateness as presented, with the exception that the ends of <br />the covering above the storefront be 3 ft. on either side instead of 4 on one side and 2 on the <br />other. Motion was seconded by Commissioner Coyle, Motion carried. <br />A motion was made by Commissioner Matthews to approve the Tax Exemption application <br />for 7 E. Plaza, seconded by Commissioner Long, Motion carried. <br />Vanessa Munoz, owner of 726 W. Sherman submitted an application to repaint the exterior of <br />the house. Her application also requested to relocate a pair of double hung window, and <br />change it to a single window approximately 4 ft to the right of the existing pair. After the <br />single window is reinstalled, repurposed siding will be installed to blend with the existing <br />siding. The property owner is repairing the existing windows. There was some questions <br />about the repair of a chain link fence. Ms. Munoz stated that if she cannot repair it, she will <br />remove it. A motion was made by Commissioner Matthews to approve the Certificate of <br />Appropriateness to paint the structure, relocate the pair of window as presented on the <br />drawings submitted, and to repair or remove the fence. Motion was seconded by <br />Commissioner Coyle, Motion carried. <br />Josiah Daniel was present to represent Judy Daniel to discuss the Certificate of <br />Appropriateness application for 117 & 119 Clarksville St. The applicant is seeking approval <br />to rebuild the front fagade at the lower level. Chairman Dux asked Mr Daniel about the <br />missing transom windows, as he had seen a couple of different renderings of the front of the <br />property. Mr Daniel said he was reusing the windows. Chairman Dux reviewed the submitted <br />designs verbally to the applicant. The configuration will be as follows: single door, upright <br />divide, large picture/display window, upright divide and single door as presented in the <br />drawing. Mr. Daniel stated that he was going to use metal to support the awning and wrap it <br />with wood. Ms. Bedford had received a new drawing from Mr. Daniel the day before, and it <br />was reviewed by the commission as well. Chairman Dux ask the commission if they had any <br />questions. Hearing no questions, Chairman Dux asked for a motion. Commissioner Matthews <br />made a motion to approve as presented in the latest drawing, seconded by Commissioner <br />Coyle.
