771F, =_6 <br />December 12, 2022 <br />Page 10 <br />29® Discuss and act ®n an agreement with Vyve to provide internet services for the City of <br />Paris. <br />IT Manager Celso Arrieta said the City currently utilizes a point-to-point system, which <br />is an antenna system to connect different buildings to the network and to the internet. He <br />explained that this particular system had challenges because the bandwidth was shared with other <br />users outside of the City's network and antennas could be inconsistent and/or fail prompting <br />replacement and additional costs. Mr. Arrieta said City Council recently approved entering into <br />agreements with Claro to upgrade the City's network and telecommunications systems, and in <br />order to support the implementation of these two solutions it was vital to have access to a reliable <br />and robust internet service. He said staff recommended option one, which was to approve the <br />agreement between the Cfty and Vyve. <br />A Motion to approve option one, an agreement between the City and Vyve was made by <br />Council Member Pilgrim and seconded by Council Member Moore. Motion carried, .5 ayes — 0 <br />nays. <br />30Discuss and act on ORDINANCE NO. 2022-090: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS,,, ADOPTING REVISIONS.. TO THE <br />CITY'S HOME RULE CHARTER JN CONFORMANCE WITH ORDINANCE NO. <br />2022-084 AND: ORDINANCE NO.- 2022-085; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS <br />RELATED TO' THE SAME;,, PROVIDING' A REPEALER CLAUSE, A <br />SEVERABILITY, CLAUSE, . A,� PENALTY CLAUSE AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />City Manager Grayson Path said approval of the Ordinance before them was the final <br />step in the Charter Amendment process. Mr. Path said this Ordinance was essentially a clean-up <br />provision as some Charter sections had been deleted and others had been added. <br />A Motion to approve this itern was made by Council Member Pankaj and seconded by <br />Council Member Pilgrim. Motion carried, 5 ayes — 0 nays. <br />31. Convene into executive session pursuant to Texas Local Government Code pursuant to: <br />Section 551.072 of the Texas Government Code, to deliberate the purchase, <br />exchange, lease, or value of real property if deliberation in an open meeting would <br />have a detrimental effect on the position of the governmental body in negotiations <br />with a third person. <br />
