MINUTES OF REGULAR MEETING OF THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION <br />COMMISSON <br />CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS <br />June 14, 2023 <br />The HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION of the City of Paris met for a regular <br />meeting on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at the City Council Chambers. <br />Present: Commission Members: Glee Emmite <br />Jessica Holtman <br />Linda Vandiver <br />Chris Dux <br />Matt Coyle <br />Ryan Matthews <br />Absent: Jennifer Long <br />City Representatives: Cheri Bedford, Historic Preservation Officer <br />Guests: Spencer O'Connor <br />1. Call meeting to order: <br />Chris Dux, Chairman, called the meeting to order at 4:02 p.m. <br />2. Citizens Forum: No one came forward to speak at the meeting. <br />Review and approve the minutes of the May 10, 2023 and May 24, 2023 meeting. There <br />was only a minor correction on both with extra N's in PRESERVATION in both. HPO <br />Bedford has already made the change in the official minutes to be filed. <br />4. Discussion and possible action on the following applications for the property located at <br />36 N. Plaza- Paris Community Theatre, Spencer O'Connor <br />Spencer O'Connor came before the Commission for review and approval of a <br />COA for the Paris Community Theater for repair of the windows above the <br />marque. The original windows were replaced in 1926, but not done-ne well. The <br />wood is rotting a lot. They had considered repairing, but that would not have <br />extended the life enough to offset the cost. As a result, the Board of Directors <br />voted to go ahead and replicate then with no changes to the appearance with more <br />sustainable materials at a cost of $45,000. They are looking for assistance with <br />grants from various sources to help the theater. Commissioner Dux asked if the <br />
