Board of Adjustment Meeting <br />July 5, 2023 <br />Page 2 <br />Andrew Mack, Director of Planning & Zoning, presented the city's position to the board <br />and how it could not be supported due to the amount of the variances. Mr. Mack stated that <br />if the board decided to vote in favor of the variances that they would have to draft their <br />own findings. <br />There was discussion amongst the board and staff about the conformity of a new build on <br />the lot. <br />Staff member Paige Unger made note of the submitted input forms as follows: <br />Judy Cobb of 2129 Simpson Street, in favor. <br />Russell Figgins of 2140 Simpson Street, in opposition. <br />Jerry & Eva Tacuyan of 2151 Simpson Street, in favor. <br />No one else spoke in favor or opposition of the request. <br />Public hearing was declared closed. <br />Motion was made by Ben Vaughan, seconded by Carlton Cooper to approve the <br />variances to the City of Paris Ares Regulations, Sections 9-102(1), 9-301(1) and 9-701(1) <br />to allow construction of a new single family home based on the following board findings. <br />Motion carried,5 ayes- 0 nays. <br />Board Recommended Findipl., <br />1. The previous condition of the lot with two homes did not impact the neighbors. <br />2. Construction of a new home would be an improvement and not affect the character of <br />the neighborhood. <br />5. Adjournment. <br />APPROVED THE 18T DAY OF AUGUST, <br />
