However, we can at least get an idea of the minimum <br />expense by just looking at the cost for those who choose to have it paid out the pay period <br />they worked (instead of banking it for a future time TBD). Looking at Labor Day 2023 (a <br />sample standalone holiday in a pay period), the expense was about $13k+ in pay paid out, <br />plus benefits. Again, it is reasonable to see this as the low end cost to the city for a holiday <br />before factoring in loss production, HR matters (OT, vacation, banking of leave, varying <br />levels of pay for classification and step, emergency situations, etc.), holiday paid out, and <br />benefits. Therefore, adding two holidays would add approximately $26k+ in pay paid out, <br />plus benefits. <br />OPTIONS: <br />1. Approve a Resolution amending Section 14.01 to add Juneteenth and Veterans Day as city <br />recognized holidays. <br />2. Approve a Resolution amending Section 14.01 to add either Juneteenth or Veterans Day as <br />a City recognized holiday. <br />3.
