Paris Public Library Advisory Board <br />Meeting Minutes <br />August 20, 2025 <br />Call to Order: <br />The regular meeting of the Paris Public Library Advisory Board was called to order by Chairman <br />Steve Hellmann at 5:02 p.m. Board members present were Steve Hellmann, Eva Dickey, Myers <br />Hurt, Abigail Frank, and Jennifer Cullum. Also in attendance was the Library Director Connie <br />Lawman and Friends of the Library board members Jennifer Hollje and Jeannie Walter. <br />II. Citizens Forum: <br />No citizens addressed the board. <br />III. Approval of Minutes: <br />The minutes from the July 161h, 2025 meeting were approved, with two corrections; (a) In VI (A), <br />change the word "patron" to "visits", and in VI (B), correct the spelling of the word "more." With <br />no further corrections to be made, Myers made the motion to approvethe minutes, and <br />Jennifer provided the second. <br />IV. New Business: <br />a. Chairman and secretary appointments <br />The board discussed positions for Chairman, Vice Chairman, and Secretary. <br />Chair: Myers nominated Steve, and all were in favor. <br />Vice Chair: Myers nominated Abigail Frank, and all were in favor. <br />Secretary: Eva Dickey nominated Jennifer, and allwere in favor. <br />V. Friends of the Library <br />a. Newsletter: The Friends reported that the newsletter will be coming out in paperformat. <br />Jeannie said that having a digital newsletter has negatively impacted the donations. Connie <br />offered the library printer services to assistwith the printing. <br />b. Story walk: <br />The Friends plan on using the Polar Express again forthe wintertime storywalk. Connie <br />asked how long the signs should stay posted. Jeannie would like for the signs to be up at <br />least a month, but there is no time limit and to leave it up to the Children's Librarian, <br />William. <br />
