Regular Council Meeting <br />March 23, 2026 <br />Page 4 <br />Mayor Pankaj opened the public hearing and asked for anyone wishing to speak about <br />this item, to please come forward. Wanda Stephens, said the original map was incorrect which <br />caused much of the confusion and once the residents learned they were fighting against <br />something that never was supposed to be, they no longer opposed this change. With no one else <br />speaking, Mayor Pankaj closed the public hearing. <br />A Motion to approve this item was made by Mayor Pro -Tem Savage and seconded by <br />Council Member Attebury. Motion carried, 4 ayes — 0 nays. <br />17. Discuss, conduct a public hearing and act on ORDINANCE NO. 2026-006: An <br />Ordinance amending a zoning change from a one family dwelling district no. 2 to a <br />commercial district for the following property comprising of 5.97 acres, Paris Block 259, <br />lot PT of 14, LCAD No. 18277, located at N. Collegiate Drive and Pine Mill Road. <br />Mr. Amo-Mensah explained this item was part of the previous item. <br />Mayor Pankaj opened the public hearing and asked for anyone wishing to speak about <br />this item, to please come forward. With no one speaking, Mayor Pankaj closed the public <br />hearing. <br />A Motion to approve this item was made by Council Member Attebuiy and seconded by <br />Council Member Norment. Motion carried, 4 ayes — 0 nays. <br />18. Discuss, conduct a public hearing and act on ORDINANCE NO. 2026-007: An <br />ordinance amending the zoning from planned development to a commercial district on <br />the following property: Paris Towne Crossing Addition Block 1, Lot 6B, LCAD No. <br />121806 (8.12 acres), located on N. Collegiate Drive and Pine Mill Road. <br />Mr. Amo-Mensah explained this item was part of the two previous items. <br />Mayor Pankaj opened the public hearing and asked for anyone wishing to speak about <br />this item, to please come forward. With no one speaking, Mayor Pankaj closed the public <br />hearing. <br />A Motion to approve this item was made by Council Member Attebury.and seconded by <br />Council Member Savage. Motion carried, 4 ayes — 0 nays. <br />19. Receive presentation from Chief Salter about the Paris Police Department. <br />Chief Rich Salter introduced Captains Thompson, Bender and Bull, as well as Assistant <br />Chief Tuttle. He reviewed the department's table of organization, administration, the patrol <br />division, criminal investigations division, services division, community outreach, and citizens <br />on patrol. Chief Salter said the department was down eight officers but a big improvement from <br />two years ago, when the department was down twenty-one officers. <br />
