Discuss and make appointments to the various Boards and Commissions.
Mayor Pankaj said the only change in the process this year is that the City Council would
mark their number one candidate as number one, instead of giving him or her the most points.
Mayor Pankaj announced they would proceed with PEDC, then the TIRZ Board, the Planning
and Zoning Commission and from there, they would go in order.
City Council cast their votes for three PEDC board members and Staff called out the
names of Josh Bray, Curtis Fendley, and Chase Coleman. A Motion to approve the appointments
was made by Council Member Norment and seconded by Mayor Pro -Tem Savage. Motion
carried, 6 ayes — 0 nays.
City Council cast their votes for two TIRZ board members and Staff called out the names
of Miles Mathieu and Scott Miles. A Motion to approve the appointments was made by Mayor
Pro -Tem Savage and seconded by Council Member Ladell. Motion carried, 6 ayes — 0 nays.
City Clerk Janice Ellis reported that prior to casting votes for the Planning & Zoning
Commission, Council needed to know they had a late applicant who was not on the list. She
reported that A.W. "Plug" Clem had applied for this board, as well as the Board of Adjustment
and Building and Standards Commission. Ms. Ellis inquired of Council if they wished to include
Mr. Clem's application since it was late. Council Member Putnam said she thought it should be
included and would make for one less vacancy. Mayor Pro -Tem Savage asked when the
applications were due, and Ms. Ellis said June 8 at 5:00 p.m. Mayor Pro -Tem Savage said he
was not in favor of allowing late applications but if they had to readvertise, consider it at that
time. Mayor Pankaj agreed.
City Council cast their votes for three Planning and Zoning Commission members and
Staff called out the names of Chance Floyd, Chad Lindsey and Fran Neeley. A Motion to
approve the appointments was made by Council Member Attebury and seconded by Council
Member Putnam. Motion carried 6 ayes — 0 nays.
City Council cast their votes for one Airport Advisory Board member and Staff called
out the name of Caleb Gillean. A Motion to approve the appointment was made by Mayor Pro -
Tern Savage and seconded by Council Member Ladell.
City Council cast their votes for two Band Commission members and Staff called out the
names of Steven Clifford and Byron Myrick. A Motion to approve the appointments was made
by Council Member Norment and seconded by Council Member Ladell. Motion carried, 6 ayes
— 0 nays.
City Council cast their votes for three Board of Adjustment members and Staff called out
the names of Harley Draven, David Hamilton, and Richard Thompson.
