Consideration of and action on the petition of Jim Coplin for a <br />change in zoning from a One-Family Dwelling District No.2 (SF-2) <br />to a Multiple-Family Dwelling District No.1 (MF-1) on a Lot 4, City <br />Block 259, being number 2565 E. Cherry. <br /> <br />Motion was made to table until the May 1 st meeting by Brad Archer, <br />seconded by Marshall Kent. Motion carried by a vote of 6 ayes and <br />o nays. <br /> <br />5. Consideration of and action on the Final Plat for C & C Storage, on <br />Lots 9 and 9A, City Block251, being number 1657 North Main Street. <br /> <br />Motion was made to approve the Final Plat by Benny Plata, seconded <br />by Brad Archer, subject to the City Engineer's memo dated March <br />29, 2006. Motion carried by a vote of 6 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Because the petitioner arrived late, motion was made to bring Items <br />#3 and #4 from table by Brad Archer, seconded by Marshall Kent. <br />Motion carried by a vote of 6 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Item # 3 - Public Hearing to consider the petition of Jim Coplin for a <br />change in zoning from a One-Family Dwelling District No.2 (SF-2) <br />to a Multiple-Family Dwelling District No.1 (MF-1) on a Lot 4, City <br />Block 259, being number 2565 E. Cherry. <br /> <br />The public hearing was reopened. <br /> <br />Jim Coplin, 645 26th Street NE, said he would like to build I"ental <br />property at this location. He is planning one. new duplex and then <br />rehabilitating the house already there. He is wanting to replat the <br />property and build 2 duplexes. <br /> <br />The Commission questioned why Mr. Coplin was asking for MF <br />zoning to build duplexes, citing a concern that apartments could be <br />built on this location in the future.
