Arvin Starrett
stated that he was concerned about the future of the landmark because of the
school bond election. Dr. Pam Anglin, President of PJC, stated they have
completed a twenty year master plan, and the stadium is in it. The have no
plans of demolishing the structure. The college will not have any use for the
stadium other than graduation and other events and would like Paris ISO to
renovate and continue using it on a long-term basis. The Regents could look
at an agreement with PISD to reduce costs for them. Arvin Starrett asked
what the thoughts of the Regents were about having landmark status, and Dr.
Anglin stated they are concerned about a designation that might increase the
cost of renovation to PI SO if they do work out an agreement for them to use
the stadium. Chairman Starrett asked that the Board of Regents look at other
historically significant buildings on campus to help maintain them in an
appropriate manner in the future.

No action was taken.

1'".. ,.
