1. The Historic Preservation Commission meeting was called to order by Arvin <br />Starrett, Chairman. <br />A. The following members were present: <br />Arvin Starrett, Chairman <br />Pike Burkhart, Vice Chairman <br />Sharron Nabors <br />Ann Rogers <br />Paul Denney <br />Nancy Partridge <br />Ben Vaughan, Alternate <br />The following members were absent: <br />Susan Scholz <br />Jerry Raper, Alternate <br />B. Also present was Lisa A. Wright, Historic Preservation OfFicer, and <br />Bethany Golden, Main Street Manager. <br />2. Approval of minutes from previous meetings. Motion was made by Nancy <br />Partridge, seconded by Pike Burkhart, to approve the minutes of November <br />26, 2007. Motion carried 7-0. <br />3. Consideration of and action on the following Certificate of Appropriateness: <br />A. 824 S. Main Street - Diana Zab/osky, Ms. Zablosky stated she is <br />proposing a decorative fence in the front yard. It will be placed behind <br />the front yard tree. The fence is antique, and there will be a gate on the <br />sidewalk that matches the fence. <br />Paul Denney stated the style of fence is difFerent from the style of the <br />home, and we could be setting precedent if we allow different styles. <br />Arvin Starrett stated the fence is made of approved material and the <br />setback meets the ordinance. Paul Denney further stated Church Street <br />and South Main are a hodgepodge of difFerent styles and that may be <br />already be the precedent. Motion was made by Ben Vaughan, <br />seconded by Ann Rogers, to approve COA. Motion carried 7-0. <br />B. 326 S. Main Street - Paris Public Library by Priscilla McAnally, Ms. <br />McAnally stated she is proposing a fence with a gate in the alleyway to <br />block access to the roof because skateboarders have been on the roof. <br />The fence will not be visible from the street. Motion was made by Paul <br />Denney, seconded by Sharron Nabors, to approve COA. Motion carried <br />7-0. <br />C. 32 Clarksville Street - Uptown Properties by A/ex Pickering, Scott's <br />Signs, Ms. Pickering stated Uptown Snack & Shine wants to put their <br />name and hours on the window at 34 Clarksville Street. This will be <br />~ 0 2 <br />4:00 0'CLOCK P.M. <br />
