Reeves Hayter asked if frontage along <br />Campbell can be left residential, and Mr. Kampfer stated yes it could be, <br />however, by absorbing the property now they'll be a better neighbor in <br />the future. Buying a buffer so future problems won't arise if residential <br />develops later that conflicts with the industrial park. He said they are <br />competing with other cities who have more land to ofFer, so we need to <br />expand our park. <br />B. The following individuals spoke in opposition of the petition. <br />Carolyn Riley, 2510 W. Campbell, spoke in opposition of the petition. <br />Ms. Riley stated she has lived there for 25 years. She wants to maintain <br />peaceful area they have and don't want to be near industry. <br />Betty Rollerson, 2055 Campbell, spoke in opposition of the petition. <br />Ms. Rollerson stated she has been there for 18 years. Light Industrial <br />makes her think of We Pack trucks coming in. They have their children <br />and grandchildren there. There are 5 brick houses in the area and if if <br />goes Light Industrial, they will never know what goes in in the future. <br />Mr. Dees, 908 19th Street N.W., spoke in opposition for the petition. Mr. <br />Dees asked if zoning changed will they clean it up or just let it set there. <br />C. The public hearing was declared closed. <br />6. Consideration of and action on the Petition of Paris Economic Development <br />Corporation for a change in zoning from a One Family Dwelling District No. 2 <br />(SF-2) to a Light lndustrial District (LI) on Lot 3, City Block 305, being located <br />in the 2000 b/ock of Campbell Street. <br />Curtis Fendley asked what would be involved to give a bufFer. Pete Kampfer <br />stated 150 feet would be okay with them, and they will reduce the brush and <br />smaller trees. Motion was made by Curtis Fendley, seconded by Brad Archer, <br />to approve zoning on all of the property except a 150 foot buffer along <br />Campbell Street. Motion carried 5-0. <br />7. Public hearing to consider the petition of Paris Economic Developmenf <br />Corporation for a change in zoning from a One Family Dwelling District No. 2 <br />(SF-2) to a Light Indusfrial Districf (LI) on Lot 5, City B/ock 305, being number <br />2110 Campbell Street. <br />The public hearing was declared open. <br />A.
