Pete Kampfer, Paris Economic Development Corporation, 1125 <br />Bonham, spoke in favor of the petition. Mr. Kampfer stated same <br />information as before. The property is adjacent to property he just <br />spoke on. They will be putting in irrigation and improvements, and the <br />appearance is very important to them because they couldn't market it <br />otherwise. <br />B. There was no opposition. <br />C. The public hearing was declared closed. <br />8. Consideration of and action on the petition of Paris Economic Development <br />Corporation for a change in zoning from a One Family Dwelling District No. 2 <br />(SF-2) to a Light Industrial District (LI) on Lot 5, City Block 305, being number <br />2110 Campbell Street. Motion was made by Benny Plata, seconded by Curtis <br />Fendley, to approve zoning on all of the property except a 150 foot bufFer <br />along Campbell Street. <br />9. Public hearing to consider the petition of Terry Allen for a change in zoning <br />from a One Family Dwelling District No. 2(SF-2) fo a Commercial District (C) <br />on Lot 18, Block 203, Scott & Braden Addition, being number 2306 West <br />Kaufman. <br />The public hearing was declared open. <br />A. The following individuals spoke in favor of the petition. <br />Terry Allen, 250 29th Street S.W., spoke in favor of the petition. Mr. Allen <br />stated he wants to build a warehouse on this lot and tear down an older <br />building. There will be a 14 foot roll up door that will face the auto <br />parts store, and it will be used for storage only. He will put parking <br />where the old build is. Richard Hunt asked is there any kind of a buffer <br />you can offer residences next door, and Mr. Allen stated there will be <br />no windows, and he was eventually planning on concreting entire lot. <br />He is proposing 17 feet on each side. The building will have a 14 foot <br />eave height and be 80 feet deep. <br />B. The following individuals spoke in opposition of the petition. <br />Jack Ashford, spoke in opposition of the petition. Mr. Ashford stated <br />he has lived here for 60 years and doesn't want to look up the street at <br />a big metal barn on a residential street. He further stated Mr. Allen has <br />2 lots on Bonham, so he should build there. Richard Hunt asked if <br />would oppose if it was landscaping. Jack Ashford stated yes, he was <br />opposed to it, because you can't hide a big metal building. <br />1 000024 <br />
