Council Member Biard said when setting <br />the fee, they would need to determine what sanitation services they were going to include. <br />A Motion to table items 18 and 23 was made by Council Member Kear and seconded by <br />Council Member Brown. Motion carried, 6 ayes - 0 nays. <br />19. RESOLUTION NO. 2008-060: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF PARIS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE <br />CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS AND LAMAR COUNTY, TEXAS TO MAKE APPLICATION <br />TO THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE FOR A JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT <br />PROGRAM (JAG) GRANT TO REPLACE SERIOUSLY OUTDATED DESKTOP <br />COMPUTERS USED IN THE CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION DNISION AND PATROL <br />DIVISION OF THE PARIS POLICE DEPARTMENT; ACCEPTING SAID GRANT <br />AWARD UPON NOTICE THEREOF; AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF ANY AND <br />ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY FOR ACCEPTANCE AND IMPLEMENTATION OF <br />SAID GRANT UPON NOTICE THEREOF; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND <br />PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTNE DATE. <br />Mayor Freelen opened the public hearing and asked anyone wishing to speak in favor of this <br />item to please come forward. No one spoke. Mayor Freelen asked anyone wishing to speak in <br />opposition to please come forward. With no one speaking, Mayor Freelen closed the public hearing. <br />Kevin Carruth explained that the City and County would equally split the $20,340.00 grant <br />and that the police department would use the funds ta replace ten desktop computers. <br />A Motion to approve this item was made by Council Member Biard and seconded by Council <br />1Vlember McCarthy. Motion carried, 6 ayes - 0 nays. <br />20. Convene in Executive Session pursuant to Section 551.071 of the Texas Government Code, <br />Consultation with Attorney, to receive legal advice from the City Attorney about pending or <br />contemplated litigation and/ar on matters in which the duty of an attorney to his client under <br />the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct of the State Bar of Texas, clearly <br />conflict with this chapter. <br />a. To receive Attorney advice regarding legal issues related to the Preliminary <br />Investigative Report on the diving accident and fatality at the water treatment plant on <br />May 12, 2008. <br />Mayor Freelen convened Council into Executive Session at 7:47 p.m. <br />21.
