MINUTES OF THE REGULAR <br />MEETING OF THE <br />MAIN STREET ADVISORY BOARD <br />June 17th, 2008 <br />City Ha11 Council Chambers <br />107 E. Kaufman <br />3:00 p.m. <br />A meeting of the members of the Paris Main Street Advisory Board was held Tuesday, June 17, 2008 at 4:05 p.m., at City Hail Council <br />Chambers. <br />PRESENT: <br />Kari Daniel <br />Wyatt Bowden <br />Cindy Allcorn <br />Matthew Coyle <br />Larry Womack <br />Bethany Golden <br />Clifton Fendley <br />Kaml Lyn Moore <br />Jennifer I,ong <br />Marvin Gorley <br />Becky Semple <br />ABSENT <br />Pike Burkhart <br />Zach Saffle <br />Minutes <br />May 20th minutes were reviewed by board members, a motion was made by Matthew Coyle to approve the minutes as prepared. <br />Jennifer Long seconded the motion and minutes were unanimausly approved. <br />Man¢er's Report <br />Famous Metal Facade coming off & Consignment Shop. Harper Corp Tech guys moved to Hazold Hodges. Temporary landscaping has <br />begun at the Gibraltor. <br />Brownfieid Grant - No extra points awarded for matching funds. <br />Market Square - Kelly Produce is now at the Mazket <br />Highway Sale very successful..wili do next year working with Chamber <br />Chamber is setting up a visitor center on the plaza with public restrooms. Chamber wants to have a presence in the Downtown Area. <br />Will possibly be in the Plaza Art Gallery. <br />Event in July - Movies in the Park, Skate Park Competition, Tour de Paris, 4th of July Parade, Rodeo Parade and Street Dance. Caorlyn <br />is heading ttie concession at Movies in the Park. <br />Grand Theatre - Had an estimate on closing the openings. Main Street Architect from Houston, Sue Ann Hemberton is coming to look at <br />facade to get restoration. <br />Parallel parking Downtown and slowing down traffic call Gary Brown. Has been working with Rezza Bazzazadeh on getting slower <br />traffic. Rezza has been receptive to the idea. <br />Paperwork must be turned in to be reappointed. 7 member board with 4 aitemates. New guidelines require all boazds to go down to 7 <br />members. On Monday nights agenda. Pike has resigned so that leaves 3 seats. Even if not on board you can still be involved on <br />committees. Will be a council decision and a formal letter will be mailed. Marvin volunteered to step down and still serve on a <br />committee. <br />Presentation <br />The promotion committee would like $1,000 to put on the Summer Series. Expenses include advertising, printing, production and T- <br />shirts. Small-Town Rags wiil be doing shirts at cost, Paris Regional is going to be sponsoring as well, exact amount is unknown at this <br />time, Game X Change is providing all prizes for Ramp it Up and Keep Paris Beautiful sponsoring Student Film prizes.
