AUTOMOBILE BURGLARY & THEFT PREVENTION AUTHORITY <br />SCHEDULE A NARRATIVE <br />2. Include only one position per line. Attach a description of the duties or responsibilities of each <br />position. (Job posting can not substitute for descriptive narrative for each position.) <br />2. Percentage of salary to be funded by grant funds. <br />3. Should reflect employee's gross salary attributable to the project. <br />4. Include percent of time on auto theft for each position. (40 hours per week) <br />DETECTIVE SERGEANT <br />The Detective Sergeant will be in charge of the day to day operations of the Northeast Texas Auto Theft <br />Task Force and shall be subject to the supervision of the Paris Chief of Police or his designee, the Paris <br />Criminal Investigation Division Lieutenant. The Detective Sergeant will be subject to such orders as the <br />Chief may prescribe, not inconsistent with the laws of the state of Texas or the mandates of the Texas <br />Automobile Burglary Theft Prevention Authority. <br />He shall devote 100% of his time to the official duties unless granted leave by the Chief of Police. One <br />hundred percent of his salary is paid by ABTPA funds, except overtime, which is paid by the City of <br />Paris. His responsibilities shall include: <br />1) Supervise the Task Force in daily operations. <br />2) Keep the proper records and be responsible for the maintenance of all reports to the State of <br />Texas and Chief of Police. <br />3) Work with every responsible, legitimate group or agency in a cooperative effort to prevent <br />auto crimes by educating the public and officers. <br />4) Work diligently in the investigation of and pursuit of all auto crimes. <br />5) Enforce all laws relating to vehicle crimes. <br />6) Assist in the prosecution of all offenders charged with the crime of auto theft or other related <br />crimes. <br />ABTPA-7 <br />
