<br /> <br /> <br /> Scope of Work - Asbestos Abatement Irerracon <br /> Grand Theatre m 21 Lamar Avenue, Paris, Texas <br /> April 14, 2011 ® Terracon Project No. 94107645 <br /> q) AIA Contract A-101 2007 will be used for this project as the contract with the <br /> owner. Supplementary Condition to the Standard Form of Agreennent Between <br /> <br /> Owner and CONTRACTOR. <br /> <br /> 3.0 WORK PRACTICES <br /> <br /> 3.1 Respiratory Protection <br /> <br /> Throughout the project, respirators shall be provided by the CONTRACTOR. The <br /> CONTRACTOR will provide respirators which are applicable and suitable for the <br /> <br /> purpose intended in accordance with OSHA 1910.134 - Respirator Standard. The <br /> CONTRACTOR will ensure that the respirators are equipped with filter cartridges <br /> designed for asbestos-containing dusts and mists, vapors, and color-coded in <br /> accordance with ANSI Z228.2 (1980). <br /> <br /> 3.2 Protective Clothing - <br /> <br /> During removal of the ACM, at least one protective suit will be worn by each worker. <br /> Boots and gloves will be made available to each worker as needed. All protective suits <br /> will be properly disposed of at the conclusion of the work. The workers performing the <br /> abatement will decontaminate thoroughly in three-chambered wet decontamination <br /> system attached to each containment. <br /> <br /> 3.3 Containment <br /> <br /> <br /> The asbestos containing materials will be abated in a series of full containments <br /> constructed of two (2) layers of 4-mil polyethylene sheeting on the walls and two (2) <br /> layers of 6-mil polyethylene sheeting on the floors (where applicable), and one layer of <br /> 4-mil polyethylene sheeting on the ceiling, in conjunction with critical barriers, negative <br /> pressure, and a three chambered wet decontamination system. <br /> <br /> Decontamination System: disposable/pop-up units displaying excessive use or <br /> wear will not be permitted for the decontamination system. Provide a Personnel <br /> Decontamination Unit consisting of a serial arrangement of connected rooms or spaces, <br /> Changing Room, Shower Room, and Equipment Room. Require all persons without <br /> exception to pass through this decontamination unit for entry into and exiting from the <br /> work area for any purpose. Do not allow parallel routes for entry or exit. <br /> <br /> Changing Room (clean room): Provide a room that is physically and visually sepa ted <br /> from the rest of the building for the purpose of changing into protective c thing. <br /> Construct using polyethylene sheeting, at least 6-mil in thickness, to provide ^ airtight <br /> <br /> seal be weep the Changing iPooni and the rest of the huild? rna.
