<br /> <br /> <br /> Scope of Work - Asbestos Abatement 1rerracon <br /> Grand Theatre ® 21 Lamar Avenue, Paris, Texas <br /> April 14, 2011 ® Terracon Project No. 94107645 <br /> Exterior Stucco/Plaster: Spray asbestos containing exterior stucco/plaster (Texture) <br /> <br /> with amended water or removal encapsulant. Allow time for amended water or removal <br /> encapsulant to saturate the material. Do not over saturate to cause excess dripping. <br /> The asbestos containing Texture and associated plaster/concrete substrate will be <br /> removed exposing the brick exterior. If amended water is used, spray material <br /> repeatedly during the work process to maintain a continuously wet condition. If a <br /> removal encapsulant is used, apply in strict accordance with manufacturer's written <br /> instruction. The clean surfaces will be encapsulated after passing a visual inspection <br /> conducted by a Terracon representative. The abated material will be bagged and <br /> disposed in accordance with the asbestos abatement design. <br /> <br /> Vibration Isolator: may can be removed as a component. Spray VI with amended water <br /> or removal encapsulant. In order to remove the vibration isolator (VI) as a component <br /> the CONTRACTOR will completely cover the VI with duct tape or a similar material. <br /> Sections of the metal air handler may be "cut" on either side of the VI, taking care not to <br /> disturb the VI. The area of abatement removal will pass a visual inspection conducted <br /> <br /> by a Terracon representative. The abated material will be bagged and disposed in <br /> accordance with the asbestos abatement design. <br /> <br /> 3.5 Disposal <br /> <br /> 1. Once the regulated ACM is removed, it will be double bagged and labeled In <br /> accordance with Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) and <br /> OSHA guidelines. Pre-printed Generator Labels shall be affixed to each <br /> bag or wrapped component prior to being placed in the lined waste disposal <br /> dumpster or trailer. The use of bladder bags, onion bags or any other <br /> disposal bags deemed unconventional by the consultant will not be <br /> permitted, unless authorized in writing by the Consultant prior to <br /> contract award. <br /> <br /> 2. All waste will be labeled in accordance with 29 CFR 1910.1200 (f) of OSHA's <br /> <br /> Hazard Communication standard, and will contain the following information: <br /> <br /> DANGER <br /> CONTAINS ASBESTOS FIBERS <br /> AVOID CREATING DUST <br /> CANCER AND LUNG DISEASE HAZARD <br /> <br /> 3. The area between the bag-out area and the prepared waste receptacle shall <br /> be regulated with barrier tape during bag-out operations.
