Scope of Work - Asbestos Abatement Irerracon <br />Grand Theatre ■ 21 Lamar Avenue, Paris, Texas <br />April 14, 2011 ■ Terracon Project No. 94107645 <br />Second Floor (see attached drawinq) <br />Vibraiion Isolator .........................................................1 <br />NOTES: <br />a) Prior to beginning any work on the exterior of the structure, the CONTRACTOR <br />will insta{I a six foot temporary fence around the proposed work area, which wiil <br />include the sidewalk area. The inside of the temporary fence will be completely <br />covered with black plastic that will serve as a visual barrier. <br />b) CONTRACTOR will be responsible for site security throughout the remediation <br />project. <br />c) CONTRACTOR will avoid damaging the ceramic/metal (orange/blue) cap on the <br />top of the parapet wall associated with the front facade. The CONTRACTOR will <br />also avoid damaging the ceramic signage and associated neon lighting <br />associated with the exterior marquee. The CONTRACTOR will be responsible for <br />any damage that occurs to the exterior marquee. <br />d) Prior to beginning the exterior abatement a general CONTRACTOR will enclose <br />the vertical marquee "Grand" sign within a hard barrier. <br />e) CONTRACTOR is responsible for providing all scaffolding, ladders and/or <br />staging necessary to accomplish the work of this contract. The type, erection and <br />use of scaffolding, including provisions for fall protection and employee training, <br />shall comply with OSHA 29 CFR 1962, SUBPART L. <br />fl CONTRACTOR is responsible for Fall Protection for his employees. <br />CONTRACTOR is solely responsible for protection CONTRACTOR's employees <br />form fall hazards. Fall protections protocols must comply with all applicable <br />provision of OSHA 29 CFR 1926.500, SUBPART L. Documentation of training for <br />each employee will be provided prior to beginning work. <br />g) Due to the deterioraton of interior building materials the work area will require <br />extensive precleaning prior to beginning remediation activities. The precleaning <br />may consist of the clean-up of asbestos, lead and fungal contarninated debris. <br />These activities will be performed after the installation of critical barriers <br />separating the lobby from the remainder of the first floor theater, and at the <br />entrance to the lobby, and installing the three chambered decontamination <br />system.
