Paris and the Red River Region <br />7 Road Map & Initiative <br />Sustainable Manufacturint <br />Therefore, we will assess and uitimately recommend actions and potential soiutions baseci on <br />linking and leveraging these four pilfars - Academic, Industry, Government, and Philanthropy - <br />leading to a more comprehensive approach to accelerating the Initiat+ve lmplementation Plan. We <br />anticipaie key elements of the recommendations wi1l include: <br />• State, County, and Locaf policies and practices including transformation of regulations, rules, <br />and/or incentives. <br />• Communiceting and Informing the General Public on results and impacf (economic and societal) <br />from the Initiative activities, planning and results. <br />• Building the Commercial and Industrial innovation networks and the PEDC `intermediary'ta <br />sustain the work and actions aver a period af time through appropriate resource allocation, <br />siate and local investments, and attraction of assets and monies as weil as people and talents <br />to the Region. <br />On-going daia collection, information and knowledge sharing, and monitoring progress - <br />samewhat of a canstant dashboarci or index of inetrics to moniior progress <br />• Funding tactics including leveragtng existing relationships internal and extemal to the Region. <br />Finally, the Sustainabte Manu#acturing Initiative will have an impact an the PEDCs current <br />physical intrastructure around the Industria( Park, Business Incubator, the Airport, and tts <br />affiliaiian with o{der facilities in transition as well as the expansion of existing operations among <br />national and regional brands. While we will not conduct a site seiection nor a land-use analysis <br />in this phase, we wilf provide insights as to how other regions have exploited simi{ar <br />infrasiructure and make recommendations for cansideration by PEDC and it's public and private <br />sector partners. <br />Task 4: On-Site Presentation of Findings and Recommendations <br />OutpUt/Key Action Steps <br />. Richard Seline, in person, and others remately, wiil provide a four one-day on-site se1 of presentations <br />to target auc4iences as identified by PEDC and its partners. <br />. Ftichard Seline will canduct two to three interviews as approved with state and local media and <br />communications interests at the directian of PEDC. PEDC will arrange said presentations and <br />interviews, and all materiais will be pre-approved before presentation to ihe general public and media. <br />• Finally, a capstane of i'hase 1 and therefore Task 4: PEDC and Richard Seiine will conduct a Tawn- <br />Hall Meeting for #he three-county region io announce the launch of the Sustainable Manufaciuring <br />Initiative in early September 2011. <br />. By this time, it is expected that key State agencies and commissions will have cQmmitted towards <br />funding the Initiative and the work of certain tasks in Phase 2(workfarce, competency ciusier <br />assessment leading to new training and education pragrams for instance). <br />5 of 6 <br />41 <br />
