WHEREAS, notice of such public hearings was published
<br />- in a newspaper having general circulation in the City of
<br />Paris, Texas, and in the above described territory, on the
<br />20th and 27th days of June, 1982, which dates are not more
<br />than twenty (20) nor less than ten (10) days prior to the
<br />date of such public hearings; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the total corporate area of the City of Paris,
<br />Paris, Texas, on the first day of January, 1982, was
<br />14,100.5 acres; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the population of the City of Paris, Paris,
<br />Texas, is in excess of 25,000 and less than 50,000 inhabit-
<br />ants ; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the above described territory lies within the
<br />extraterritorial jurisdiction of the City of Paris, Paris,
<br />Texas; and,
<br />4JHEREAS, the above described territory lies adjacent
<br />to and adjuoins the City of Paris, Paris, Texas; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the above described territory contains 13.15
<br />acres, more or 1ess, which when added to dther property
<br />annexed in the year 1982 is less than ten per cent (10°Io)
<br />of the present acreage contained in the corporate limits
<br />of the City of Paris, Texas; and,
<br />WHEREAS, the above described property should be
<br />propertly zoned as of the date of annexation; NOW THEREFORE,
<br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OI' PARIS:
<br />Section 1. The following described land and territory
<br />lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of Paris, Paris,
<br />Texas, is hereby added and annexed to the City of Paris,
<br />Paris, Texas, and said territory hereinafter described
<br />shall hereafter bQ included within the boundary limits of
<br />the City of Paris, Texas,' and the present boundary limits
<br />of said city, at the various points contiguous to the area
<br />hereinafter dESCribed, are altered and amended so as to
<br />include said area within the corporate limits of the City of
<br />Paris, Texas, to-wit:
<br />A tract of land located in Lamar County,
<br />Texas being a part of the P,eddin Russell Survey
<br />#786, and being part of the 94.07 acre tract
<br />of land willed to Estelle Council and being
<br />shown in an Affidavit as recorded in Volume 305,
<br />Page 455 of the Deed Records of said County and
<br />State, and further described as follows:
<br />BEGINNING at the intersection of the North
<br />line of Stone Avenue in the City of Paris and
<br />the East Right-ogway of U.S. Highway 271;
<br />THENCE S 85 51` E, 215,0 feet along the
<br />North line of Stone Avenue to the true point
<br />of beginning of the tract herein described:
<br />THENCE continue along said North line S
<br />85°51' E, 127.7 feet to a PI in said North line;
<br />THEIVCE continuing with said North line
<br />S 59°40' E, 454 5 feet to a point;
<br />THENCE N 4691' W, 817.1 feet to a point;
<br />THENCE N 50 30' W, 501.6 feet to the
<br />Southeast corner of a tract conveyed to the
<br />North Paris Baptist Church by deed recorded
<br />in Volume 571, Page 551;
