49 - Repair Storm/Mainline Cross-Connection
An indirect cross connection between the sanitary and storm system allows
rainfall to enter the system by way of the cross connection. If the sanitary line
passes through the storm line, there is also a potential for exfiltration of
wastewater into the storm drainage system. Without extensive investigation of
both the sanitary and the storm systems, it is difficult to determine the optimal
repair method. Typically, however, the repair will involve repairing both the
sanitary and storm sewers contributing to the defect. Therefore, this defect type
is assigned a high cost to allow leeway in repair methods.
491 - Investigate Suspect Storm/Main Connection
This rehab code includes the cost to dye, televise, and point repair the defect.
Depending on the severity of the problem as determined through television
inspection, additional rehabilitation for the entire line segment may be necessary,
and this cost is not included.
50 - P1uQ Abandoned Mainline at Manhole
An abandoned collection line is found connected to a manhole. This
rehabilitation method addresses plugging the line to eliminate possible I/I and
debris from entering the system.
51 - Plug Overflow at Exit from Manhole
A constructed overflow pipe is found connected to a manhole. This rehabilitation
method addresses plugging the line.
52 - Plug Storm Connection at Manhole
The recommended repair for a storm line connected directly to a manhole is to
plug it. Additional costs may result, however, if additional storm system
connections have to be built to carry runoff.
ADS Environmental Services, Inc.
VI-20
