Mr. Starrett stated that only if that person were to desire t keep that property in the condition that it is in now, to keep the roof r paired, to keep paint on the property, to keep the windows painted-it c uld simply go on like it is. With the designation, it gives the property ower outlets down the road for help and then when someone comes alon and says, "I want to restore this property,"-then we have saved a Par.s treasure. Sue Lancaster spoke in favor of the petition stating that s e and her husband became aware of the home and some of its history ates back to 1892. It was a magnificent home in its time. The hous has been vandalized and she and her husband boarded up the ack. Ms. Lancaster stated that the house is a solid house. Before the wner left, the house was rewired and replumbed. Ms. Lancaster stat d that she has been talking with some people in the area about turni g it into a Community Center or a place for Girl Scouts, possibly a Bla Museum was mentioned. It would be a shame and a loss for Paris fo the house not to get its designation and protection. No opposition, the public hearing was declared closed. 10. Consideration of and action on the petition of the Historic P eservation Commission for a change in zoning to include a Histor c Overlay District No.4 (HD) on Part of Lot 12, City Block 52, being located at 714 Graham Street. Motion was made to approve as Historic Overlay District No 4 (HD) by Bobby Myers, seconded by Brad Archer. Motion carried a vote of 7 ayes and 1 nay (Russell McCain).
