103. Repair of siding must be done with materisl of like quality over 15# felt paper. Rcpair of trim must be <br />done with "C" grade material. <br />10.4. Methods <br />A. Trim must be completo with no pieces missing. Repaired siding must be lacod into existing <br />siding. <br />B. Vinyl Siding must be installed per manufactuner's apecifications. <br />C. Trim must be complete with no pieces missing, Repairai siding must be laced into existing <br />siding. <br />D. When new siding is placed over existing, the existing siding must fully cover the wal) to supply an <br />even surface for applicstion of new siding. Fasteners must be long eaough to pcnetrste into the <br />existing structural members at least 1/2`d. A moistwa barrior (buitding felt paper) must be used <br />directly under ncw siding. <br />10.5. Ncw Siding - If panel siding is used all joints and paaels must fall on center of ftaming members. For lap <br />siding start application by fastening a wood starter strip (3/8b x 3/8b') along bottom edge of the Sill. Level <br />and install first piece of siding so that bottom edge is at least 1/8`d, below the starter strip. Fasteners must <br />be up from the drip edge of the siding. Butt edges must occw only at stud locations. Minimum <br />overiap of courses must be 1 V. NO siding mayt be placed closer than 6b' to the exposed earth. <br />10.6. Roof trim <br />A. Fascia must be installed on wood band nailed to rafter tails and must be wider than the cut of the <br />rafter. <br />B. Soffit must be X t/ all grade exterior plywood installed to rafter (when specified), <br />C. Friezeboard must be installed at top plate of wall and extend to decking of roof and fit tightly <br />betvveen rafters (no gaps). <br />10.7. Posts and handrails <br />A. Columns must be a minimum 4d, x 4t1, dimension and be treated lumber. <br />B. Handrails must be wolmaniud Ltiated lumbcr, <br />C. Porches must be constructed of troated (umber and porch flooring must be made of Zd, x 4b' <br />wolmanized or h-eated lumber, rough cedar, or #2 yellow pine, with corroaive resistant nails. <br />D. Exterior door and window trim must be wolmanized treated lumber rough cedar or #2 yellow pine <br />with corrosive resistent nails. Gaps must be only large enough so thet caullcing will be sufficient <br />to fill. <br />11.0 Inaaladon <br />11.1. Materials <br />A.
