A. Every front, rear, side, and bastment or cellar door/hatchway, must be not less than 2'-4" in width and not less than 6'-6" in height, except where larger doors and doorways are r+equired to accommodate accessibility. In exiating sttuctures, if replacement to meet these requinments would be impossiblc or cost-prolubitive, said requirements may be waived, in writing, by the local rehabilitation depaclment and/or building inspection departrnent B. Every window, exterior door and basement or celtar hatchway must be substantially tigfit and rodent-proof, and be kept in a state of maintenance and repair. C. All exurior doors to the outside or W a common public hall must be solid core and be equipped with adoquate security locks including at least one deadbolbdoor. All windows accessible from ground level without the aid of inechanical devices must have a security dovice/lock. D. Every window sash rnust be; Fulfy equipped with glass window panes which are without cracks or holes, and sll paaes must be secured with an adoquate amount of putty. Pntty must not be cracked, broken or missing; Every window sash must be in good condidon and must fit tightly, within its frame; 3. Every window, other than a fixed window, must be capable of bcing easily openetl, shut and locked and must be held in position by window hardware, not broom handles, sticks, or other such items; E. Every exterior and interior door, when closed, must fit well within its frame. F. Every exterior and interior door, door hinge, and door latch and/or lock must be maintained in good working condidon; G. Every window, door and frame must be constructed and maintained in such relation to the adjacent wall conswction, so as to exclude rain as completely as possible and to subsequently exclude wind firom entering the dwelling or stmcture, i.e., it -must have adequate weather- stripping. H. Every basement or cellar hatchway must be constructed and maintained as to prcvent the entrance of rodents, snakes, rain and surface drainage water into the dwolling or structure. I. Every habiteble room must have at least one opecable and lockable window. The minimum wtal windaw area, measured between stops, for every habitable room and must be as follows: 1/12 of tlie floor area if 2 or more sepacate windows exist, or; A minimum of 10 square fcet of window area is required in hebitable rooms other than kitchens; A kitchen aad or bathroom may pass without a window area, providcd, thero is a mechanical meens of vendlation which is maintained in working onder. The total window area that can be opened in every habitable room, must be equal to at least SO% of che minimum window area size. The window shoald be a viable means of egress and therefore accessible and adcquaoely sized W provide this function. K. Bvery habitable room must have at least one window or skylight which can easily be opened, or other such device as will adequately ventilate the room.
