9. REFERENCE SPECIFICATIONS <br />Where reference is made in these specifications to specifications compiled by other <br />agencies, organizations or departments, such reference is made for expediency and <br />standardization from the material supplier's point of view, and such specifications <br />referred to are hereby made a part of these specifications as if fully written out herein. <br />Whenever reference is made to the furnishing of materials for testing thereof to conform <br />to the standards of any technical society, trade organization, or regulatory body, it shall <br />be construed to mean the latest standard, code, specification or tentative specification <br />adopted and published at the time of advertisement for bids, even though reference has <br />been made to an earlier standard, and such current standards are made a part hereof to <br />the extent which is indicated or intended. Referenced standards shall include all <br />comments and best practices indicated in the Standard, even if not specifically required <br />by the Standard. In the event the Referenced Specification conflicts with the Project <br />Specification, the Project Specification shall govern. <br />10. PROJECT MAINTENANCE <br />The Contractor shall maintain and keep in good repair the improvements covered by <br />these plans and specifications during the life of the contract. Existing improvements at <br />the project location shall at all times be protected by the Contractor during the <br />construction specified herein. All such prior existing improvements shall be left in a <br />condition equal or better to that prior to the start of construction. <br />11. FENCES, DRAINAGE CHANNELS AND SURPLUS EXCAVATION <br />Boundary fences or other improvements temporarily removed to permit this <br />construction shall be replaced in the same location and left in a condition as good or <br />better than that in which they were originally found. <br />12. DISPOSAL OF WASTE <br />The Contractor is responsible for testing and disposal of all waste products associated <br />with the project. <br />13. CLEANUP <br />1. During Construction - The Contractor shall at all times keep the job site as <br />free from all material, debris and rubbish as is practicable and shall remove <br />same from any portion of the job site, when it becomes objectionable, in the <br />opinion of the Engineer or Owner. <br />Section VII - 3 <br />~ ~ 428 <br />
