e. The Contractor may hire a licensed waste disposal contractor to assist in the <br />handling and disposition of the debris. <br />5. Transportation and Disposal of Debris; <br />a. The Contractor must arrange to have the debris transported from the site <br />and disposed of properly in accordance with TCEQ Waste Disposal <br />Guidelines. <br />b. The Contractor may employ only licensed transporters and only licensed <br />disposable facilities may be used. <br />c. Signed manifest will be returned to the Engineer to verify that all steps of <br />handling and disposal process have been completed properly. <br />d. Final completion of the project will not be given including recommendation <br />for final payment until all manifests have been submitted to the Engineer. <br />6. Clearance Testing: <br />The Contractor will thoroughly vacuum, wash or otherwise decontaminate <br />reusable items prior to removal from the project site. This includes but is not <br />limited to equipment, all shrouding materials, ground covers, change and <br />shower facilities. If adequate cleaning is not possible, the materials will be <br />treated as waste and disposed of properly. <br />35.09 SUBMITTALS: The Contractor will provide written programs for each of the <br />items below a minimum of 30 days prior to beginning work. <br />1. Abatement Progam: The Contractor will provide a written plan for the <br />methods to be employed for surface preparation to remove the lead <br />contaminated paint, containment of the structure during abatement, ventilation <br />and collection of debris. <br />2. Environmental Monitoring Program: The Contractor will provide a written <br />plan for the monitoring of soil and air protection procedures. This plan will <br />include the name and location of the laboratory to be used for testing. It will <br />also include the type and name of the high volume air monitors to be <br />employed. <br />3. Worker Protection ProQram: The Contractor will provide a written plan for the <br />protection of his workers in accordance with 29 CFR 1962.62. The plan will <br />TS35-7 <br />468 <br />
