City of Paris Historic Resources Survey 2003 Phase 2 - Page 3 June 3, 2004 Task 1.3 - Field Survey and Analysis Task 1.3.1 - Field Survey The survey team will travel each city street within the existing historic districts, and to each individually listed National Register Property. Each of these previously recorded properties will be evaluated in order to update the existing survey fonn as needed. All properties will be digitally photographed F or newly recorded properties, each will be documented by digital photography and a Photo Index Sheet will record and cross- reference the photographs to the inventory. Detailed descriptions and an architectural analysis of the sites or properties deemed of some significance will be recorded on Electronic Texas Historic Sites Inventory Fonns developed for this project. All documentation ma terials will meet the standards required by the Texas Historical Commission. Task 1.3.2 - Analysis When all fieldwork and research phases are completed, the surveyed properties will be assigned a HIGH, MEDIUM or LOW significance or preservation priority rating. Previously surveyed properties will have their assigned significance rating verified. Based on their architectural integrity and historical associations, documented sites will be evaluated on the basis of the following criteria: HIGH PRIORITY - Contributes significantly to local history or broader historical patterns; is an outstanding or unique example of architecture, engineering or crafted design; and retains a significant portion of its original character and contextual integrity. MEDIUM PRIORITY - Contributes to local history or broader historical patterns, but alterations have diminished its integrity; is a good but typical example of architecture, engineering or crafted design; is a good but altered illustration of a common local building fonn, architectural style or type. LOW PRIORITY - Typifies a common local building fonn, architectural style or type, with little or no identified historic associations; is a moderate to severely altered resource that exemplifies a distinctive building type or architectural style, or that has only minor historic significance. Task 2 - Survey Reports Task 2.1 - Survey Overview Report A summary of the Survey findings will be prepared, which will include statistical data regarding the survey's results, a detailed description of the survey boundaries, methodology, context and historical infonnation.
