days prior to the institution of annexation proceedings; and, WHEREAS, notice of such public hearings was published in a newspaper having general circulation in the City of Paris, Texas, and in the above described territory, on the 17th, 30th and 31st days of March, 1985, which dates are not r.lore than twenty (20) nor less than ten (10) days prior to the date of such public hearings; and, WHEREAS, the total corporate area of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, on the first day of January, 1985, was 14,258.457 acres; and, WHEREAS, the population of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, is in excess of 25,000 and less than 50,000 inhabi- tants; and, WHEREAS, the above described territory lies within the extraterritori.al jurisdiction of the City of Paris, Paris, Texa.s; and, WHEREAS, the above described territory lies adjacent to and adjoins the City of Paris, Paris, Texas; and, WHEREAS, the above described territory contains 17.55 acres, more or less, which when added to other property annexed in the year 1985 is less than ten per cent (10%) of the present acreage contained in the corporate limits of the City of Paris, Texas; and, LJHEREAS, the above described property should be pro- perly zoned as of the date of annexation; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAII`1ED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS: Section 1. The following described land and terri- tory lying adjacent to and adjoining the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, is hereby added and annexed to the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, and said territory hereinafter described shall hereafter be included within the boundary limits of the City of Paris, Paris, Texas, and the present boundary limits af said City, at the various points contiguous to the area hereinafter described are altered and ar.lended so as to include said area within the corporate limits of the City of Paris, Texas, to-wit: All that tract or parcel of land a part of the Reddin Russell Survey No. 786, Lamar County, Texas, and being a part of a 94.07 acre tract of land devi_sed to Estelle Council as shown in Affidavit recorded in Volume 305, Page 455, Deed Records of Lamar County, Texas, and being more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at a point in the North boundary line of Stone Avenue, said point being N59°40'W, 801.5 feet from the Southwest corner of a tract of land conveyed to Powderly-Reno Consolidated Independent School District by deed recorded in Volume 459, Page 163, Deed Records, Lamar County, Texas, and being the Southwest corner of a 6 acre tract of land under option to Northwestern Cor- poration; THENCE North 4°21'W, 817.1 feet to a point; THENCE North 50°30'W, 501.6 feet to a point, the same being the Southeast corner of the North Paris Baptist Church property;
