B. Pads must be monolithic concretc pad, 16dx16b'x4b'. They must be set on firm propared soil <br />below existing ground surface. <br />6.4. Steps <br />A. All steps must have treads a minimurn of ten inches and a maximum rise of sevccn inches. They <br />must span full width of door opening or they must be minimum 36t/ wide at potches. <br />B• Pre-cast steps must be standazd size with no defects. They must be set ]cvel with concrete bases <br />under each corner. When set, the rise from the top step to the wearing surface must be the same as <br />the rise for the steps or be in the wearing surface ptanc, <br />C. Hotlow poured steps must be formed and poured over an 8dx 16b' footer. Wall thiclmess must be <br />minimum of4d, The trrads must be broom finished. <br />6.5. Slab on Grade <br />A. All conerete sfabs must be poured monolithically and be a minimum of 4" thick. Reinforcing <br />must be 6bx 6d, Number 6 welded wire fabric uNess otherwise specified, Top of slab pourod on <br />existing grade must be a minimum of %z'd above surrounding soil level. All slab designs and <br />executions must concur with the requirements of the Southern Building code. <br />A. Before concrete is poured, a slab inspection must be requested from the Contract Administrator <br />and then pass inspection. All slabs and driveways must meet Contract Administrator codes. <br />B. Walks must be poured monolithic to expansion joints. Reinforcing must be 6b' x 6b', number 10 <br />welded wire fabric. Width must be a minimum of36b, wide with a bmom 6nish. Control joints <br />must be spaced the width of the walk. Expaosion joints mast be spaced at a maximum of 203, at <br />all radius points, elevation changes (i.e. steps, porches, etc.) and at back of curb. Expansion joint <br />material can be'hb' asphalt impregnated material or %z`d redwood. Slab thickness must be a <br />minimum of4b. <br />C. Driveways must be monolithic poured slab with a broom finiah and a minimum theckness of 4", <br />Reinforcing must be 6b' x 6t/ number 10 welded wire fabric. The slab will be poured vn a 2b, <br />ssnd cushion (compacted). Expansiop joints will be spaeod a maximum of 201inear feet not to <br />exceed 30 sq, yards in one biock. Expansion joinLs will be used at all radius <br />poiots, sidewalk <br />interseetions and house slab tio-ins. Expans;on joint materials can be asphalt impregnaW <br />material or'/s", redwood. <br />E. Exterior beams must have a mirtimum width at top of beam of 18`d, and may taper dpwn to 14y at <br />the bottom. Exterior beams to have a minimum of 4, #S (5/8 d) rebars, cwo (2) at the top and two <br />(2) at the bottom, set on 3/8d stirrups or #6 wire mesh cut to fit. Exterior beam must extend a <br />minimum of 6'd into undisturbed soil, Exterior beam rnust be a minimum of 243 in height. <br />F. Interior beams must be minimum of 18b', in height and should have two #4 (1/2d) rebars s;de by <br />side 6b', off bouom of beam set in 3/8b' stirrups or #6 wire mesh cut to fit st 33 O/C. Interior <br />beams width to be 16b' in width at top and may taper to 8b' at bottom. #4 rebar to have a <br />minimum lap of 12". #5 rebar to have a minimum lap of 15". Interior beam to extend 3b', below <br />undisturbed soil. <br />G. Atl slab and beam specifications listed herc must bc used un(ess the Contract Administrator's <br />Building Code requirements or specificadons exceed these specifications. All slab designs and <br />executions must concur with the requirements of the Southem Building code. <br />6.6.
