D. Creep-hole Door must be hinged and be constivcted of such material W conform with foundation <br />skirt, and must be of adequate size for entrance into crawl space.(min. 16d x 16b'). <br />6.11. Foundation Drainage - When exisNng grades or excavations allow water to aeeumulate under the structure, <br />a drainage ditch must be dug so water must drain away from the house. Ditch must be located as per <br />individual specification. Optn ditches which constitute a tripping hazard must be replaced with French <br />drains. French drain will be constructed of 6b' perforated PVC drain field line and installed in a ditch at <br />least 12d in depth and 8b' wide. The ditch will be back fiUed with P gravel and the drain line protected <br />with fabrie mesh. The drain line must be placod at least 2'd above the bottom of the ditch and centcred to <br />allow graval to swround it. Discharge must be a minimum of ten feet from the elosest edge of ihe structure <br />and at least l0" below the grade level of the shucture. Whenever possible, foundation drainage problems <br />will be comected through rograding, filling, compacting and planting of surrounding area. <br />6.12. Masonry <br />6.13. Materials <br />A. Portiand Cement: ASTM C150. Typel <br />B. Masonry Cement: AST'M C 91 <br />C. Aggregate: ASTM C 144 <br />D. Brick: Facing brick ASTM C 216-71, grade MW, type FBS <br />6.14. Methods <br />A. Do not instell cracked, bmken, or chipped masonry units. <br />B. Lay masonry units piumb, ttue to line and with level courses accurately spaced within allowable <br />tolerances. <br />C. Adjust masonry units into final position while mortar is soft and plastic_ <br />D. Lay masonry units with full martar coverage on horizoetal and vertical joints. <br />E. Provide weep holes in head joints in first courso and immediately above all flashing. Maximum <br />spacing 48b' o.c.. <br />F. Attach masonry veneer to backing with metal veneer des. Use at least one de per 4 square fcet of <br />veneer. <br />G. Dry brush magonry surFace after each days work. Scrub with acceptable cleaning agent. <br />7.0 Wood and Plaatics <br />7.1. Materials <br />A. All lumber must be identified by thc appropriate grade starap. <br />B. All new or replaced wood in coutact with concrete, earth, or within 12b, of ground level must be <br />pressure treated or woimanized lumber or lumber with natural resistance to decay. <br />C.
